🏆 Happy Father’s Day to All Our Lacrosse Dads! 🏆

Today, we celebrate the dads, grandfathers, stepdads, and father figures who make our lacrosse community stronger every day.

Thank you for the early morning drives, the packed equipment bags, the hours spent in the stands, on the bench, in the parking lot, and behind the scenes. Thank you for teaching teamwork, resilience, sportsmanship, and what it means to wear the Kings crest with pride 💙❤️🦁

Today’s the Day! 🥍👑🦁

The first games of the 2026 Orillia Kings Memorial Tournament begin today at 2:00 p.m. at both Rotary Place and Brian Orser Arena.

As we begin this special weekend, we are honoured to share the legacy of our final 2026 divisional honouree, Susan Grube.

Susan was a dedicated member of the Orillia Minor Lacrosse executive who shared her passion for the game with everyone around her. She devoted countless hours to supporting lacrosse in Orillia, from selling raffle tickets in support of the Junior program to cheering on players and promoting the growth of the sport throughout the community.

Her generosity extended far beyond the arena. For many years, Susan opened her home to players as a billet, providing home-cooked meals, a welcoming environment, and countless cherished memories. She brought that same sense of family to the lacrosse community, organizing turkey dinners for the banquets, making the arena truly feel like home.

The teams competing in our U7 division are playing in honour of Susan’s love for lacrosse, her commitment to the Orillia Minor Lacrosse community, and her remarkable ability to make everyone feel welcome.

We encourage you to take a moment to read the full In Memoriam above and learn more about Susan’s lasting contributions to Orillia Minor Lacrosse and the many lives she touched through the game.

Today, we are proud to recognize our U9 Division Honouree, Bob Fryer.

Bob exemplified the true spirit of volunteerism. Whether he was timekeeping, coaching, managing teams, or serving on the Orillia Minor Lacrosse executive, he gave countless hours to support and grow the game he loved. One of his many lasting contributions was securing Orillia’s first lacrosse tournament in 1983, helping to establish a tradition that continues to bring our lacrosse community together today.

The teams competing in the U9 division are playing in honour of Bob’s dedication to lacrosse, his unwavering commitment to volunteer service, and his passion for supporting the teams and athletes he worked alongside. Bob was also well known for leading the famous “Let’s Go Lions!” cheer, so as we head into tournament weekend, we encourage everyone to raise their voices and share their best cheers in celebration of his legacy.

We invite everyone to take a moment to read the full In Memoriam above and learn more about Bob Fryer’s many contributions and enduring impact on the sport of lacrosse in Orillia.
