Leather straps & leather/wood handles? You must be in a real Pilates studio!
Leather adds subtle weight, friction & drag which requires more muscular control, deepening engagement & creating a unique torque/pull relationship

Pilates is a system & this is how it works: we work the apparatus to create a body that can do Return To Life Mat exercises
There's a million other considerations but this is what a Pilates Teacher is doing in their studio. It's as simple as that. Maybe the Student's body won't achieve all the Mat exercises, but it will achieve as many as it can

And since Pilates is a system, you can also practice The Leg Pull on other pieces of apparatus! This is why a fully-equipped studio is so powerful at reforming a body
