Rediscovering the Sabbatical & Jubilee Years Through the Tombstones of Zoar.

The confusion about when to keep the Set-Apart times began during those turbulent Maccabean years, peaking with the destruction of the Temple and continuing past the Great Disappointment of the Bar Kochba Revolt. During these 400 years and more, it was conceived, locked in, and then redacted.

Daniel 7:25 tells us he will change the appointed seasons and commandments. Many assume Constantine did this when he made Sunday the Sabbath. Few have considered the calendar’s many changes and how they relate to us today. Hidden in this proverbial swamp of confusion is the truth about the Sabbatical and Jubilee years. The Sabbatical and Jubilee years reveal the truths about the calendar that have been hidden for almost 2000 years.

More Than Just Tombstones

The calendar issue is a proverbial swamp of mixed ideas and outright false teachings. I certainly did not want to dive into that cesspool of confusion when I began writing this book. The more I began to explain each of the Tombstones of Zoar, the more I found myself explaining why and when things were changed. To understand how the Sabbatical and Jubilee dating became confused, I had to explain how the calendar was gradually changed over almost 1400 years.

Benedict Zuckermann (1818–1891), a Jewish scientist from Breslau, believed that the Sabbatical Cycles began anew after the Babylonian exile. He authored the first modern treatise on the Shmita, but he chose to exclude it when faced with contradictory evidence.

Ben Zion Wacholder (1924-2011), Professor Emeritus of Talmud and Rabbinics at Hebrew Union College in Cincinnati, examined the tombstones accessible to him and found they did not align with his chronology. He also excluded those that contradicted his understanding.

Since the discovery of the tombstones from Zoar, the Lots Cave Museum, located at the southern edge of the Dead Sea, has recovered over 400 Greek and Aramaic tombstones that were taken from Zoar (Zoora), noted as the largest cemetery in the ancient world. By examining 72 tombstones referenced in research papers and museums, we gained insights into their calendrical codes. This research uncovered 40 tombstones that can be linked to 32 other Sabbatical and Jubilee years recorded in Biblical history and archaeology, confirming the specific timing for observing the Jubilee years.

Historically, Jews have utilized different methods for counting, not always adhering to a system that begins from Creation. The present Hebrew year system is relatively modern, and the calendar itself has undergone changes throughout the last 2000 years, which may surprise many individuals.

To grasp our current situation, we need to analyze historical facts without forcing them into our preconceived frameworks. By examining the evidence chronologically, we will finally come to terms with how near we are to the conclusion of the sixth millennial day.

The world is increasingly critical of Israel's military conduct in its ongoing conflicts. But after days spent dodging missile attacks and speaking to locals living under constant threat, a very different narrative emerged.

Joe is encouraging us to get involved, to serve, to teach, lead, to pray, to join the executive team. We need more talented people. Use the talent Yehovah gave you, time to use it to double it. We recap the timing we are in, with the middle of the last Jubilee cycle, the 1290 days, the 1335 days, the 2300 days.. we're nearly at this one July 12, 2026. We are warning the people, it is up to the people to heed the warning.

Brian brought us a message from last week's Numbers 10 regarding the backwards Nun at the end of 10:34 הַֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃׆ס
ham-ma-ḥă-neh and 10:36 יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃׆ס
yiś-rā-’êl
This is the gospel message, about the rising up of Yeshua - the resurrection and the return of Yeshua, the second coming of the Messiah. Numbers 10:35-36 are as if they alone are a separate book 35 And whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee before you.” 36 And when it rested, he said, “Return, O Lord, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel.”

Num 11 - Kenneth
Job 30 - Jolanda
Job 31 - Johan
Job 32 - Shawna
Heb 12 - Isobel
Heb 13 - Isobel

Numbers. Brian reminds us that the Israelites didn't get anything free in Egypt, they had to work hard for it, they were enslaved for it Bobby comments in chat "Give us flesh to eat! Take and eat of it for this is my body which will be given up for you. They choked on too much world food, but we eat and are satisfied with His word as we hunger for more! How many have anything the world offers but are never filled. All is empty vanity without the realization of Yehovahs blessings!"

Verse 25 -The Lord came down and took upon them and put it upon the 70 elders.. Lo Yasapu.. what is being said here, did they prophecy again or did they not? Why did only 2 of the 70 remain? Acts 7:39, Stephen was proving he was preaching the true gospel. Ryan shows that the numbering system in the Torah is not the same in the Greek Pentetuch. It reads differently depending on how you put in the punctuation. We chewed on "what is a prophet" for a long time.

Job: Is Job bragging, is he in denial of his sin? or is hequestioningg himself introspectively. WE really struggle with reading Job, and why we are not all just completely blessed, why is Job tested, why does Satan get to sift him? Remember to take all these heavy things to Yehovah, our friends may be well meaning, but they don't usually get us back to a restored joy, they just increase our burden like Job's friends - we need to turn to Yah in prayer, Yah will get us back to hope, back to joy. We discussed the turning away the eye when in the presence of a young woman... we need to not just put up a boundary, we need to deal with our heart.

Hebrews Wereiteratedd again that we need to deal with the lust of the flesh and we can't blame others - we must confess and repent over and over again until the lust is dealt with.

How do we wake up the church? Joe reads us Psalm 92, as he showed us in this week's newsletter. We are about to send out a mass mailing to 700,000. Please help us to pray for and welcome anyone who is new to this teaching and help us answer questions.

TORAH PORTION
Num 10 - Johan
Job 26 - Richard
Job 27 - Brenda
Job 28 - Bill
Job 29 - Ryan
Heb 11 - Isobel

Numbers 10: Chronology studies usually miss this verse: Numb 10:11. The 20th day of the 2nd month is an important detail regarding the Chronology. The curse of 40 years begins in the 3rd year. Genesis ch. 5 gives us a chronology, but we need to count all the years in order to see which years are Sabbatical and Jubilee years. We discussed the emblems on the standards of the tribes. We need to wake people up, and part of that is to blow this trumpet and teach Torah to keep the laws of the Kingdom. 1 John 2:4

Whoever says “I know him” but does not keep his commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in him. Who's watching the cloud? The two witnesses, the two trumpets, and the whole camp are watching. Joe reminds us of the last verses in Num 10 35 And whenever the ark set out, Moses said, “Arise, O Lord, and let your enemies be scattered, and let those who hate you flee before you.” 36 And when it rested, he said, “Return, O Lord, to the ten thousand thousands of Israel.” Yehovah is standing up at this time to defend His Bride.

Job: Let's not be pointing fingers; we need to be compassionate and offer wise counsel, not judgment and condemnation. Consuelo made a poignant comment: if you want wisdom, ask Yehovah. ASK. Pray, study, emulate. How do we put on the garment?

Hebrews: We discussed Enoch and whether he died or not. We discuss the body, mind, and spirit about what happens in death. Joe points to the comment in verse 4 about Cain as an example of obedience to the calendar and first fruits. Verse 35 challenged us to look at what people suffered and did not forsake faith in Yah.

Has the Church Lost Its Prophetic Voice? Dr. Alex McFarland Episode #115
In this thought-provoking episode of the Sightedmoon Podcast, Ryan Nall and Joseph Dumond welcome renowned Christian apologist and author Dr. Alex McFarland for an honest conversation about the spiritual condition of the Church in North America and the prophetic significance of Israel in the last days.

https://youtu.be/36_EvazdLLE?si=goDmQo15yTzzRd_z

Is the Church boldly proclaiming Biblical truth, or has it become silent in the face of cultural pressure? Why are so many Christians divided over Israel and replacement theology? And what role should pastors play in addressing moral, political, and spiritual issues from the pulpit?
Dr. McFarland shares his perspective on:
The current state of the Church in America and Canada.
Why have many pastors become hesitant to speak boldly?
The Church's responsibility is to be "salt and light" in society.
The rise of anti-Semitism and anti-Israel sentiment.
Why he believes Israel remains central to God's prophetic plan.
The dangers of replacement theology.
Biblical prophecy and what believers should understand about the end times.
This conversation is both challenging and encouraging, calling Christians back to Biblical conviction, courage, and hope in an increasingly uncertain world.
Guest: Dr. Alex McFarland
Christian Apologist | Evangelist | Author | Founder of Truth for a New Generation

Shabbat shalom from Joe and the team at SightedMoon. com

Sabbath Regulations
Exo 35:1 And Moses gathered all the congregation of the children of Israel together, and said unto them, These are the words which the LORD hath commanded, that ye should do them.
Exo 35:2 Six days shall work be done, but on the seventh day there shall be to you an holy day, a sabbath of rest to the LORD: whosoever doeth work therein shall be put to death.
Exo 35:3 Ye shall kindle no fire throughout your habitations upon the sabbath day.

The Seventh Day, God Rests
Gen 2:1 Thus the heavens and the earth were completed, and all their array.
Gen 2:2 And in the seventh day Elohim completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had made.
Gen 2:3 And Elohim blessed the seventh day and set it apart, because on it He rested from all His work which Elohim in creating had made.

The Sabbath
Exo 31:12 And Yehovah spoke unto Moses, saying,
Exo 31:13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths you shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I am Yehovah; who sets you apart.
Exo 31:14 You shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is set-apart unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Exo 31:15 Six days may work be done; but in the seventh is the sabbath of rest, set-apart to Yehovah whosoever does any work in the sabbath day, he shall surely be put to death.
Exo 31:16 Wherefore the children of Israel shall keep the sabbath, to observe the sabbath throughout their generations, for a perpetual covenant.
Exo 31:17 It is a sign between me and the children of Israel for ever: for in six days Yehovah made heaven and earth, and on the seventh day he rested, and was refreshed.

The Shema Deut 6:4-9
Hear, O Israel: Yehovah our Elohim is one Yehovah: and you will love Yehovah your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your might. And these words, which I command you this day, shall be upon your heart; and you will teach them diligently to your children, and you will talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they will be for frontlets between your eyes. And you will write them upon the door-posts of your house, and upon your gates. And it will come to pass, if you will hearken diligently to my commandments which I command you this day, to love Yehovah your Elohim, and to serve him with all your heart and with all your soul, that I will give the rain of your land in its season, the former rain and the latter rain, that you will gather in the grain, and your new wine, and your oil. And I will give grass in your fields for your cattle, and you shall eat and be full. Take heed to yourselves, so your heart will not be deceived, and you turn aside, and serve other gods, and worship them; and the anger of Yehovah be kindled against you, and he shut up the heavens, so that there shall be no rain, and the land will not yield its fruit; and you perish quickly from off the good land which Yehovah gave you. Therefore you will lay up these my words in your heart and in your soul; and you will bind them for a sign upon your hand, and they will be for frontlets between your eyes. And you will teach them your children, talking of them, when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up. And you shall write them upon the door-posts of your house, and upon your gates; that your days may be multiplied, and the days of your children, in the land which Yehovah sware unto your fathers to give them, as the days of the heavens above the earth.

The Greatest Commandments
Master, which is the great commandment in the law? Yehshua said unto him, Thou shalt love Yehovah your Elohim with all your heart, and with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets. Mat 22:36-40

Breaking Bread
Now as they were eating, Yehshua took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins. I tell you I will not drink again of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father's kingdom.” Mat 26:26-29

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.
Mat 5:20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Lights in the World
Php 2:12 Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling.
Php 2:13 For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.
Php 2:14 Do all things without murmurings and disputings:
Php 2:15 That ye may be blameless and harmless, the sons of God, without rebuke, in the midst of a crooked and perverse nation, among whom ye shine as lights in the world;

Faith Without Works Is Dead
Jas 2:14 What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
Jas 2:15 If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
Jas 2:16 And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
Jas 2:17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
Jas 2:18 Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
Jas 2:19 Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Jas 2:20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
Jas 2:21 Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac his son upon the altar?
Jas 2:22 Seest thou how faith wrought with his works, and by works was faith made perfect?
Jas 2:23 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto him for righteousness: and he was called the Friend of God.
Jas 2:24 Ye see then how that by works a man is justified, and not by faith only.
Jas 2:25 Likewise also was not Rahab the harlot justified by works, when she had received the messengers, and had sent them out another way?
Jas 2:26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also.

Happy Preparation Day! What's on your menu this Shabbat?

May יהוה bless you as you prepare for His day of rest tomorrow. Shalom from Joe and the team at SightedMoon.com

In the story about the Manna from Yehovah we are told that the day before the weekly 7th day Sabbath they were to prepare for the Sabbath on the 6th day. A double portion was to be sent on the 6th day for them to prepare for the weekly Sabbath. Exo 16:1-36

We are told to go out on the 6th day and gather twice as much as on the other days and that this would not rot. You are to bake, boil and PREPARE what you will eat on the Sabbath day, so that you do not work on the Sabbath.

The Sabbath was made for us, not us for the Sabbath. Then what we are in fact preparing beforehand is done in order to enjoy what was made for our betterment.

Mar 2:27And He said to them, The sabbath came into being for man’s sake, and not man for the sabbath’s sake. 28Therefore the Son of Man is also Lord of the sabbath. …
