The Dojo

We are a family run martial arts school teaching Goju-Ryu Karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Sensei Angelo Panoussis opened The Orangeville Dojo in July 2005.

The Dojo practices GOJU RYU KARATE and BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU. A member of Karate Ontario, The Orangeville Dojo provides students with a safe and inspirational environment to train martial arts, no matter their age or ability. Sensei Panoussis has been training in karate and Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for the past 24 years. Martial arts are truly his passion and this is proven in the way he teaches and stil

l trains himself. He has taught in our community for seven years. The Orangeville Dojo has a dedicated group of instructors, students and parents. Sensei Panoussis provides students with a high level of instruction and commitment. He instinctively knows when to push and when to give individual students space and time to learn. Sensei Panoussis constantly inspires others to push further and give 110%. He has created a great network of people to train with and learn from. All the instructors at the Orangeville Dojo train and teach because it is their passion. All of these great qualities are evident to any individual when they come to try a class or simply watch a class at The Orangeville Dojo.

Due to recent weather concerns, and for the safety and well being of our clients we have decided to close The Dojo today. We feel it is in everyone’s best interest to stay off the roads and not take a chance. The Dojo will be reopening tomorrow (Friday January 16th 2026) for our regular business hours. 🥋 Tournament Highlights! 🥋

This past Sunday, October 19th, The Dojo proudly participated in the Karate Ontario Recreational & Elite Tournament — bringing a strong team of 15 competitors and returning home with 14 medals! 🏅

A huge thank you to all our athletes for your patience, focus, and effort throughout a long and eventful day. You represented The Dojo spirit with pride!

To our parents and families, thank you for the countless drives, your commitment to extra training, and for always being in our athletes’ corner. Your support means everything. ❤️

And a special thank you to Shihan, Sensei, Mr. Gaudet, and Blake for coaching and guiding our students. Your leadership makes all the difference. 🙏
