The Orangeville Blitz are now offering billeting opportunities for players looking to join one of the premier development programs in junior hockey.

Our billet program is designed to provide more than just a place to stay, it provides a professional environment where players can develop both on and off the ice.

We’re incredibly excited to see the Orangeville Blitz featured in the newspaper as we continue building something special for our community.

Junior hockey is back in Orangeville, and we couldn’t be more proud to bring a first-class development program to the town we call home. Our mission goes far beyond wins and losses, we’re committed to helping young athletes develop on and off the ice while providing fans with an exciting brand of hockey they can rally behind.

With an experienced staff that includes former NHL and professional players such as Tyler Randell, our athletes will have access to mentorship, development, and opportunities that prepare them for the next level.

This is just the beginning. We’re excited about what lies ahead and can’t wait to share this journey with the Orangeville community.

The Orangeville Blitz is proud to select Hudson Hisey in our inaugural GMHL Draft.

Hudson is an electrifying, high-tempo forward whose combination of speed, edgework, hockey IQ, and offensive creativity makes him a player who can impact the game every time he touches the puck. He sees the ice exceptionally well, creates passing lanes under pressure, and possesses a quick, deceptive release that allows him to generate scoring chances from anywhere in the offensive zone.

What stood out most to our staff was Hudson’s ability to process the game at a high level. He consistently finds seams, attacks defenders with confidence, and navigates traffic with poise despite his compact frame. His pace, vision, and offensive instincts give him the tools to be a difference-maker at the junior level and beyond.

We believe Hudson has the talent, work ethic, and potential to continue his development toward the professional ranks.

Rowntree is a hard-nosed, high-compete forward who brings an edge every championship team needs. The Orangeville Blitz are proud to welcome Matteo Orlando to the organization.

A local goaltender out of Hill Academy U16 AAA, Orlando brings athleticism, enthusiasm, and a strong competitive edge to the crease. Through 15 games and 673 minutes played in 2025–26, he showed the ability to battle through high-danger situations, track pucks through traffic, and give his team a steady presence in net.

Technically, Matteo plays with composed positioning, strong reaction time, and the ability to square up to shooters with confidence. His rebound control continues to stand out, directing pucks into safer areas while limiting second-chance opportunities. His anticipation and awareness allow him to read plays early and stay controlled as pressure develops around the net.

We believe Matteo has the tools, mindset, and local pride to grow into an important piece of our program.

Stansfield is a dynamic two-way forward who brings a high level of hockey IQ, speed, and competitiveness to our lineup. His ability to play with pace, create offense through transition, and make smart decisions in all three zones has made him one of the league’s top young players. As a GMHL All-Star, Blake has already demonstrated his ability to compete at a high level while consistently contributing in key situations.

What excites us most about Blake is his complete game. He plays with a relentless work ethic, tracks hard defensively, and has the skill set to generate offense while maintaining strong attention to detail away from the puck. We believe he will make an immediate impact for our club and continue to develop into a player capable of taking his game to the next level.
