To know what really motivates me to motivate others in their health and fitness journey, we need to look back about 15 years ago. With a diagnosed fracture in my back and no position that I could sit, stand, or lay in that was not painful, I walked (a lot), and I did water aerobics. I was motivated by the realization (and fear) that the less I did, the less I was able to do. Conversely, the more I

did, the stronger I got. And so was born this need to share with others the key to living an independent life. Although I trained to become a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor; I wanted to target people who were at risk of losing their independence. I went on to certify as an active ageing specialist. I also trained with Debbie Cheong out of BC Women’s Hospital learning the scientifically designed Osteofit program. When Ms Cheong joined forces with Ronda Field Physiotherapist Injury Prevention & Assessment from Fraser Health, the falls prevention programs of Get Up and Go and Carefit were born. I quickly embraced the Get Up and Go program as well became a mentor for the Carefit program which teaches care aids to implement the falls prevention methods within extended care facilities. I look forward to helping you to identify and achieve your health and fitness goals.
