🎉🎉Woohoo 🤘🤘

The 4th Edition of the Canadian Shield has proven, once again, what an amazing Bikepacking culture we have in Eastern Canada. With just over 100 participants, it was our largest event year, including over 50 tents/trailers, making for a remarkable social and community dr Ben event.

A huge thanks for all the people that attended the Summit throughout the weekend. Your energy was contagious. A special thanks to the presenters and workshop leaders for taking the time to share your passion and impart practical knowledge to all those in attendance. This event wouldn’t have been possible without you.

, your presentation was awesome and you can be certain that many of us will be cheering you on as you race the Tour Divide.

, your photography and video skills are out of this world. , your humility, drive and determination are awe inspiring. Lastly, , you are living examples of what it takes to engage your ‘pack’ into a. Life of adventure.

The workshops led by Meaghan, Robyn, , , .dannylopez , and were so informative that people struggled choosing which one to attend. That is a fantastic problem to have. lol

Once again, this year, we had some amazing sponsors, with and giving away a brand new complete Panorama Cycles Taiga EXP 3. In addition, we had amazing prizes from .co , , , , , and

Lastly, the people that worked in the back ground all weekend helping to make the event a success. .touring , Jason Postma, Jasmine and more.

For those that would like easier access to the summit agenda, here it is in digital format. Thanks to the amazing for putting so many awesome social media posts together. She has been so incredibly helpful this year.

There’s also been a small change because of the expected rain tomorrow afternoon and evening. I figured, rather than we all stand in the rain in the wet grass, sharing campfire stories, we should instead do the bike show&tell and save the campfire stories for Saturday night.

See you all tomorrow

🔥🔥Workshop Announcement🔥🔥

I’m really excited to have Danny Lopez, .dannylopez , coming up to Ottawa to some of her knowledge in a workshop titled, "The Performance Trap: Honouring where you are vs. forcing where you want to be". It’s exciting to have someone willing to share strategies that help us move toward our bikepacking fitness goals by taking actionable steps that make the journey more achievable. While this is Danny's first appearance in the endurance cycling world, it's a space she's followed closely for years and one that reflects exactly the kind of athlete she builds for — someone willing to go long, go hard, and figure it out along the way.

Here’s a bit more about Danny:
Danny is a Movement Development Practitioner who has been helping people build from where they are — not where they think they should be — since 2019. Her work grew out of sheer curiosity and a refusal to accept that the only paths after graduation were rehab, medicine, or teaching.

Be sure to check out the Bikepack Adventures website for more details on Danny and to see some fun-facts about her.

The 2026 Canadian Shield Bikepacking Summit is definitely one of the hottest bikepacking events in the National Capital Region calendar. Three days of presentations, workshops and stories on all things bikepacking.

And to top it off? Some amazing sponsors supporting this amazing event with phenomenal prizes. It’s great to see so many sponsors returning year after year. This event wouldn’t be the same without them.

Massive thanks to .co

The Campfire Stories that Bivo hosted to start off the 2025 Canadian Shield Bikepacking Summit were such a success, that we decided to continue with the tradition. This year, Quick Cranks will be helping to lead the evening, and we have come up with an incredible topic for the opening night Campfire Stories.

This year, we are looking for Bikepacker’s that are keen to share a story on an “Unexpected Gift”. This might be a story about kindness, a chance encounter while out on the trail, hidden places, accidental discoveries, or bikepacking plans falling apart in the best way possible.

We are looking for 5-6 summit participants to share their amazing stories. These stories should be relatively short, lasting 6-8 minutes. If you are interested in participating, use the link in our bio to submit your Call For Stories.

The Summit is only 2 weeks away, so don’t dally!
Huge thanks to for hosting the evening.

🔥🔥2026 Sponsorship Announcement🔥🔥

I’m excited to announce that Tailfin Cycling will again be supporting the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Summit by donating some pretty awesome prizes. They have been supporting all things Bikepack Adventures for the past three years, and I'm pleased to have them supporting the Bikepacking Summit for a 2nd year.

A little more about Tailfin Cycling:
Tailfin Cycling, a maker of technical bikepacking equipment, has been making waves in the bikepacking community for several years now, having stepped outside the conventional boundaries of bikepacking equipment to find unique solutions that make the bikepacking experience all the better.

Whether a ultra-distance road racer, bike tourer, bikepacker or endurance racer, these bags offer solutions for everyone. I’m extremely pleased to represent them on all my adventures and to have them supporting not just the podcast, but also smaller, grass-roots events like the Summit.

🔥🔥2026 Sponsor Alert🔥🔥

⬇️⬇️Le texte français suit⬇️⬇️

It's great to have Bert supporting the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Summit for a 2nd year in a row. I've been using their après-ride shoes for the past year and these comfy little minimalist shoes have travelled with me to Japan, bike toured in Europe, bikepacked across Ontario and Quebec, and also been used during workouts in the basement.

This year, a couple lucky Summit participants will win a pair of Bert shoes. Their shoes are highly praised by prominent bikepackers and it's exciting to see Bert supporting this event and showcasing their outstanding products during the summit weekend.

A little more about the company:
Bert - The Other Shoe is a Colombian company specializing in active espadrilles crafted for comfort and sustainability. Their innovative shoes feature recycled rubber soles, neoprene, nylon mesh, and EVA insoles, making them the ideal solution for pre- and post-activity wear. For bikepackers, who spend long days in their cycling shoes, Bert offers a lightweight alternative to give tired feet the rest they need for the next adventure.

A heartfelt thank you to Bert for their continued support.
Be sure to check them out on Instagram

🔥🔥2026 Sponsor Alert🔥🔥

⬇️⬇️Le texte français suit⬇️⬇️

I'm excited to have Old Man Mountain as a sponsor once again at the Canadian Shield Bikepacking Summit for the 3rd year in a row. Old Man Mountain has made a name for themselves as a producer of high quality racks, and are now producing some pretty amazing bags, with some pretty innovative attachment systems. If you haven't had the chance to check out their products, , one of their Ambassador's in the region, will be at the summit with what is bound to be a pretty decked out bike. You never know, you might even be lucky enough to win an OMM prize.

A little more about the company:
Since 1996, Old Man Mountain has made durable, functional cargo racks for all types of bikes. Old Man Mountain racks are designed to be versatile from front to rear and from bike to bike. The Fit Kit system means you can purchase one rack and multiple Fit Kits to put the rack on the front or rear of the same bike or put it on different bikes. Old Man Mountain racks work with or without eyelets and with or without suspension.

See you all at the summit and thank you
