I've been following this with interest. The agreement is being bogged down in the foreign offices. Its not complicated when you understand that Mauritius is a financial hub with investment potential, but very little free cash, and following COVID when the government paid tourism enterprise salaries for 18 months, a substantial national debt.

Britain is about to hand the Chagos Island back to Mauritius, but nobody knows why its taking so long to do it. Nobody disputes Mauritius rights any longer.
