Well spring has sprung and ice is off the lake. The staff at Kaby have been furiously getting ready for our guests to arrive in just under a week. Boats going into the water today, cabins cleaned and beds are made. Roxanne, Ellah, Adam, Landon and a new dock hand Corey will ensure everyone's stays are memorable.
Chef Andrew has the kitchen spotless and our meals have been great with the limited provisions we flew in with us a week ago by helicopter. I can only imagine the cuisine that will be flowing from our kitchens this year. Everyone is in for a treat when combined with our chef from the later part of last year, Michel G. These two culinary specialist will wow you with their creations to make your mouth water each meal.
Water levels are the highest we have seen in years and pike are already laying eggs in the shallows. Loons and eagles are back along with multitudes of water fowl. The staff even saw a moose already at the river mouth, Bruno the bear has been in camp to munch the new grasses and dandelions popping up. Daffodils have even begun to bloom.
The past week has been gloriously warm through the days but still quite chilly at night. Bright sunny days and light winds broke the ice quickly considering it was just a week ago we flew in by helicopter over an ice covered lake with snow still in the bush.
Anyone who has not gotten their reservation in place for this summer, check our on line calendar for the few remaining openings we still have.
Bless you all and have a great summer. I know we are!!
