So so so proud of this team today! 😍
with some insanely chill PRs going 9/9 with a huge 529 deadlift to round off a great meet!
😍♥️having a near perfect meet and going 8/9 with all national records and winning best overall lifter and $1000! 🙌🏻
Finally, myself, I went 9/9 as well and hit 2 PRs of a 325 squat (which gave me best overall squat and $100) and a 165 bench! Ended off the day with a 370 deadlift (not a PR) to total 860 and perfectly calculate at a 400 Wilks 🤘🏼I missed out on best overall female by 18 points and all props to Tu Le for playing a great game with me :p
Thank you to for handling me ♥️ we made great choices and it could not have gone much better than it did.

🌻Happy International Women’s Day! What does this day mean to you?
To me it means being able to be both a strong, badass powerlifter and strength coach and a girl who does her makeup every day, is excited to put on her wedding dress, and loves to do her nails for powerlifting meets! Most importantly, it means I am lucky enough to have so many open doors in my life and have a support system for wherever my life takes me🤗
To all the other strong women in my life, you guys are my inspiration and I love having so many people to look up to ♥️

Sunday is only a few days away! I have been visualizing this meet for a while now and I’m excited to test myself 🤗
Usually the hardest part of peaking for me is the mental aspect in the last few weeks, but I feel great this time around! (Only one mini meltdown all prep haha) I’m ready to have fun and kick some butt! 👊🏼 It’ll be at the Fortius Sport & Health Complex in Burnaby if you want to come watch some good competition! 10am 🙈

🤢EW, WHY IS EVERYONE AT BLACKSMITH ALWAYS BAREFOOT??

We have up to 200,000 nerve endings per foot! This means that our feet are very sensitive to touch. Shoes inhibit and dampen the input that these nerve endings can transmit to our brains. Lifting barefoot (or as close to) helps us get more feedback from ground reaction forces and translate that into muscular output so that we can move more weight! When you wear footwear with a thicker sole, you’re basically adding a cushion between yourself and the floor, thus decreasing the amount of muscle units we can activate to move the barbell!

During you next squat or deadlift session, try going barefoot. You will feel the difference instantly! 🦶🏼
