Pilates from the Center

Pilates from the Center We strive to create healthier communities by empowering people to heal their bodies through movement

Pilates from the Center (PFTC) is a fully-equipped, 2000 sq. foot studio offering private lessons, semi-privates, and group classes on Reformer, Cadillac, Chair, and Mat equipment. All of our instructors are graduates of the Level 5 Classical Pilates Method. The training they've had to complete offers the most comprehensive and intensive overview of the Pilates practice in North America, giving th

em both practical and experiential knowledge as exceptional Movement Educators. We apply that knowledge to every client who walks through the door to improve strength, stamina and flexibility. In addition to being a fully-functioning studio, we are a School of Natural Movement offering a comprehensive Intermediate and Advanced Pilates Teacher Training Program. The Advanced program is the only Canadian training program to receive the Pilates School Approval designation by the Pilates Method Alliance (PMA). We believe you need to embody the full classical repertoire to be a great teacher so If you're interested in becoming a Pilates Instructor and being challenged both physically and mentally, this is where you'll want to be! Using the magic circle for rollover is very helpful in integrating the legs into your center (via inner thighs to pelvis and psoas to lumbar) so that your sacrum can initiate the movement of flexion, it then takes the pelvic halves over with it and brings the rest of the spine with it. (rather than the legs pulling the pelvis over into flexion).
