Mixed Flag Football Playoffs
sEAGLES repeat as league champions.
The A semi finals were everything the. Gas book makers wanted them to be with four tough teams battling down to the finals seconds in both games.
Run Burgundy’s came out flying against the sEAGLES jumping out to a 13-0 lead early in the game. Burgundy’s played tough defence and the sEAGLES had trouble building sustained drives. So many incredible plays were made by both teams with Burgundy’s taking a 20-6 lead into the second half. The sEAGLES answered early in the second half but Burgundy’s answered before pulling back into the lead 32-26 with less than a minute to play. With only three plays left before the end of time the sEAGLES started on their own 30 yard line. Burgundy’s stiffened their defence playing with only 6 players as one of their females had to leave the game early. Mike Dupelle took his team down the field and found Kimberly Raymond inside the endzone of the last play of regulation to tie the game 32-32 as time expired. Not wanting to go to overtime Dupelle found Raymond once again to convert the extra point and give the sEAGLES a 33-32 victory to advance to the finals. This was one of the best games ever played in our 13 year old league. Tremendous plays by so many players showcasing the best in mixed flag football.
Players of the Game
Run Burgundy’s - Sarah Loretto and Russ Burns
SEAGLES - Mike Dupelle and Kimberly Raymond
In the other semi final the undefeated You’ll Never Catch This held off a very tough PrimeTime squad winning 20-13 in a see saw match. This game was anybody’s to win but a late interception by Cory Kleezy secured the victory to send the undefeated You’ll Nevwr to their first final. PrimeTime were heavy underdogs in this game but you would not have known it watching the game as they gave everything they had and in the end at a chance to win. The victory was costly for You’ll Never though as captain Jordan Prudhomme went down with a knee injury and was forced to sit out the final.
Players of the Game
You’ll Never - Cory Kleezy and Stephanie Zufelt
PrineTime - Stirling Bilz and Chelsea Findlay

The final was a battle of the top two seeds. In the regular season You’ll Never Catch This won 35-27 and the sEAGLES were determined to get revenge for that defeat.
The sEAGLES jumped ahead early leading the front runners 21-0 at half time. The sEAGLE defence was stifling and their offence had You’ll Never off balance controlling first half. The injury to Prudhomme looming large in the early stages of the game. The sEAGLES kept it going jumping head 27-0 before You’ll Never finally got on the board. In the end it wasn’t enough as the defending champs cruised to a 35-7 victory to raise the trophy once again.
Players of Game
sEAGLES - Travis Raymond, Trish Dupelle
You’ll Never - Gerry Dupelle and Stephanie Zufelt
