We’re excited to welcome back Ms. Mikaela for another season with Norquay Rosa 🇺🇦🌹

As a proud Norquay Rosa alumni and member of our community, Ms. Mikaela is a familiar face to many of our dancers and families. Having danced for over 25 years, her love for Ukrainian dance, culture, and tradition has grown into a passion for teaching the next generation of dancers.

With more than 10 years of teaching experience, Ms. Mikaela brings kindness, encouragement, and energy to every class. She takes pride in helping her dancers build confidence, develop their skills, and grow their love for dance.

We’re so happy to have her back for another amazing year!

Wearing our roots with pride today 💙💛

Vyshyvanka Day is a celebration of Ukrainian culture, heritage, and the traditions that continue to unite Ukrainians around the world. The vyshyvanka is one of the most recognizable symbols of Ukraine — a piece of clothing rich with history, meaning, and artistry. 🇺🇦

Traditionally, embroidery patterns and colours varied by region and family, with many designs believed to symbolize protection, strength, love, and prosperity. Passed down through generations, the vyshyvanka represents a deep connection to our ancestors, our culture, and one another.

Today we celebrate not only the beauty of Ukrainian traditions, but also the resilience and pride that continue to keep them alive.

Vyshyvanka Day in Canada celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.

Dozens of organizers, hundreds of volunteers, and many thousands of participants have made this celebration a growing tradition in communities across Canada.

Wherever you live, put on your vyshyvanka on the third Thursday in May, gather with Ukrainian Canadians and friends of Ukraine, and be part of this special celebration.
