Jr Wrangler Saturday! We collected all the eggs and then after making sure no one was afraid of the cows, we took a ride in the Kubota and into the field to see if any babies had been born yet. No babies, but Daisy came over to talk to us. lol 🐮 Back to the barn we went to clean Hans’ stall. Wrangler I did her best but in the end couldn’t take the smell of the p**p so up close and personal, so she went with helpers Claire and Audrey to clean out his food bowl in the wash stall. Once all the p**p and all the p*e were cleaned out, Wrangler I was back in action spreading the wonderful smelling shavings! šŸ˜‰ next we went and made our grass pet horse. Like a chia pet but with grass seeds so the mane can grown really long and we can trim it to look like Hans or leave it long like the other horses on the ranch. Lastly we spent some quality time with the goats and picking flowers for our moms. It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Wednesday! We gathered the eggs, noting the different textures of the shells; one we thought looked like the surface of the moon!šŸŒ• Next we cleaned Jojo and Moose’s paddock, with Jojo inspecting our work at every turn.šŸ•µļøā€ā™€ļø. Since these boys love the cows 🐮, we went on a hunt for the cows in the side-by-side. It took us a bit but we finally found them hiding in the very back corner of the field in the shade. Daisy the head of the greeting committee came and got up close and personal with the Wranglers. On our way back to the barn the boys wanted to stop to pick some flowers for their moms and investigate the pond. Then we couldn’t leave the field without seeing if we could make it to the top of the hill in the field. Once back at the barn we made a cow 🐮 for our craft, but things got a little crazy when the boys found the goggly eyes from yesterday’s craft. šŸ‘€ lol. It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Tuesday! While waiting for everyone to arrive we visited the horses. Next we gathered the eggs. Wrangler L was happy to pick one that had freckles just like her 🄰. We then got our wheelbarrows and cleaned Jojo, Moose, and Gunner’s paddocks. Wrangler M found some worms 🪱 and told us about how he was going fishing on Father’s Day! After the paddocks were cleaned up, we took Jojo through her exercises and did the exercises with our pony pals. Lastly we made turtle and flower bookmarks, learning a technique called quilling. We might have had some fun with the container of googly eyes šŸ‘€ as well šŸ˜‚. It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Monday! The girls were on the job tonight, collecting eggs and cleaning JoJo and Moose’s outdoor paddock. The girls quickly were able to pick out Moose šŸ’© and Jojo šŸ’© and decided that Jojo šŸ’© made their wheelbarrows extra heavy šŸ˜‰. Next we brought Jojo in for a good brushing (Jojo, you are a true gentle giant letting those girls walk under you without moving a muscle, despite the safety talks!! 🫠) Once she was shiny and clean we brought Jojo into the arena for her exercises. We realized that if we didn’t work as a team, and lead Jo in the proper way, she would try to walk beside the poles. We circled back and tried again until we got it just right! Good job cowgirls! Once Jojo’s exercises were finished it was off to pick our own horse and try the exercises. After a couple tumbles, we soon realized that it’s very important to lift our legs and feet high so we didn’t touch the poles or trip on them; realizing how good the exercises were for Jojo! Lastly we went to the craft area where we made our leaping frogs. It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Saturday! Now that the paddocks have dried enough to be cleared of the winter poo and smoothed out, we’re back to daily paddock picking outside. The girls cleaned out Gunner’s paddock and then we moved over to the empty paddock to clean up the little bit of leftover hay in that feeder. Wrangler L was the first to find a piece of turtle shell followed by Wrangler J finding its other piece. We figured the turtle must’ve been in the field and it got baled up by Farmer Chris last summer. The girls took their treasures home to show their friends at school. Once those chores were done we brought Jojo in for her exercises and then finished off the morning with making a unicorn keychain. It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Tuesday! The wranglers have been very helpful with JoJo’s daily exercise routine. We first brushed her and picked her feet to make sure there were no stones in her feet. Then we all put on helmets to be safe and went in the arena to learn how to bring JoJo safely through a pole course to help strengthen her topline. Next we cleaned some water buckets and lastly we made our own horse grass pet. We can’t wait for the ā€œmaneā€ to grow so we can give it a haircut! It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Monday! Today the wranglers helped with Jojo’s daily exercise routine. First we cleaned her up and picked her feet, talking about the importance of getting any stones out before her workout. We talked about working on her topline and how even though she can’t be ridden at a jog or a lope anymore, that it is still very important to keep her in shape. We learned how to walk Jojo up to the poles with purpose but that we also needed to give her some time the first time, to look at the poles and figure out her steps. We also talked about how Jojo loves the fact that she has a job to do. Next we cleaned Moose’s stall, talking about the hay we could save and put in his jolly ball and the hay that should not be saved. Lastly we took some time with the goats, learning about the different types of grass and plants they prefer by trying to feed them different grasses and plants found in their play pen. It was a good day.

Jr Wrangler Wednesday! The Poo Crew also contains a boy who loves the cows the most, so after collecting the eggs, we went into the pasture with Blind McCreedy to check out all the mama cows and Klondike the Bull who were just put out into the grass the day before. Then the boys had to check out where the cows had been staying and also say hi to last year’s babies. We might have hijacked Farmer Chris’ mode of transportation half way through our tour. šŸ˜‚. Back to the barn we went where we cleaned Moose’s stall and then went to the main level craft area to make our horse grass pets. The hope is that our grass will grow a mane for our horse pet, that we will get to trim every once in awhile. šŸ¤žšŸ» Lastly we went to visit the goats and play in the goat playground. It was a good day.
