Working on basketball skills teaches more than just the game. It builds consistency, discipline, and accountability.

When athletes understand that what they put in is what they get out, they develop a deeper sense of confidence that extends beyond basketball and into all aspects of their growth.

Through our trainers and programs, we provide players with the framework to take ownership of their development and the confidence that comes from knowing they are on the right path toward success.

1️⃣ You don’t practice at game speed
Fix: Practice like it’s a real game. If everyone is jogging through drills and not competing, games will feel way faster and more physical than you’re ready for.

2️⃣ You only train against cones
Fix: Cones can help with footwork and ball handling, but they don’t play defence. You need reps against real defenders who move, reach, and force you to adjust.

3️⃣ You’re not getting to your spots
Fix: Learn where you’re most effective on the court. Great players know their spots and work to get there instead of drifting around randomly.

4️⃣ You lose confidence after one miss
Fix: One missed shot shouldn’t change how you play. If you’ve put the work in during practice, trust your game and stay aggressive.

5️⃣ Your conditioning isn’t good enough
Fix: A lot of players start strong then fade because they get tired. Build your cardio so your energy, defence, and shooting stay consistent all game.

Good players train skills. Great players train skills at game speed, under pressure, and with confidence. 🏀

1️⃣ You’re fading away from the basket
Fix: Attack through the defender, not away from them. Your momentum should go toward the rim, not sideways or backwards. The only time you should fade away is if you’re using veer step finish.

2️⃣ You only finish with your strong hand
Fix: Practice weak hand finishes every workout. Smart defenders will force you to your weak side in games, so you need confidence with both hands.

3️⃣ Your eyes are down on drives
Fix: See the rim early. Keep your eyes up so you can read defenders and stay focused on your finish.

4️⃣ You don’t change pace before your gather
Fix: Use hesitations and pace changes before your last two steps. Slowing down then exploding makes defenders react late.

5️⃣ You don’t read the help defender
Fix: Learn where the shot blocker is coming from. Use the rim for protection, finish off two feet when needed, and make smart decisions around help defense.

Great finishers aren’t always the tallest or most athletic players. They play under control, use angles, and know how to finish through contact. 🏀

Can you do all three post moves?

How to get 6 easy points in the paint:
1. Begin with a drop step, bump hard towards the middle of the paint and then drop your back leg toward the baseline sealing the defender on your hip. Go up strong.

2. Next time counter the drop step by faking the drop and pivoting inside the paint for a baby hook.

3. Now we go back to the baby hook and when the defender bites, we reverse pivot for a wide open layup.

6 points, 2 moves, 2 counters.
