The Red Bulls had wings tonight! With unstoppable energy, they charged their way to victory in the final game of the 2024-25 season!

There may not have been snow in the forecast, but the Blizzards stormed through to claim victory in the Open Division final of the 2024-25 season! In a thrilling showdown, they netted the tie-breaking goal with just one minute left in the third period. Talk about a nail-biter!

Huge congratulations to the No reGretzkys, our runners-up, for an incredible game and an amazing season!

A big THANK YOU to all the teams for another fantastic season of women’s hockey, and to all the volunteers that make it all happen! We loved every moment and can’t wait to hit the ice with you again in September!

Meet the St. Catharines Orioles, the first all-Black hockey team in Ontario.

Formed in 1932, they played in the Niagara District Hockey League, an 8-team league in Southern Ontario. Notably, they are believed to be the first all-Black team in Canada to compete against white teams.

The players were descendants of former American slaves who had found their way to freedom in the Niagara region through the Underground Railroad. This team photo is the only photo of the team. It was taken next to the British Methodist Episcopal Church, a small chapel that played an important role in the Underground Railroad.

The Orioles faced significant prejudice both on and off the ice. Nevertheless, the team's resilience and determination marked an important chapter in the history of Black hockey in Canada.

The Women's Hockey League has done it AGAIN! This amazing group of players donated 35 purses filled with essentials (plus lots of extra items!) to support the Fill A Purse For A Sister Campaign.
A huge THANK YOU to everyone who contributed, and to the incredible Angel Freedman for leading this kind and meaningful initiative every year.
The campaign is simple, but its impact is enormous. For women and youth in crisis, arriving at shelters with little to nothing, these thoughtful donations can make a world of difference to their situation and confidence.

Who would have thought learning to play hockey as an adult could be this much fun? On Sunday evening, this group of women hit the ice for their very first hockey lesson. The best surprise? Their first coach was none other than Canadian hockey legend and Hockey Hall of Famer, Angela James! It was an incredible kickoff to what’s shaping up to be an amazing season.
