CAPREIT WILMOT CREEK NEWSLETTER – March, 2018
Happy March All. We won’t mention the weather and jinx ourselves. Below, please find updates and information from the Administration Office.
Bluffs and Construction Reminder
During the early spring season, please remember that although snow may be melted, the ground may still be frozen in some places and thawed in others along the Bluffs. The shoreline white post and chain repositioning and the cleanup of shoreline equipment and fences will begin when the weather and ground conditions permit. Please exercise extreme caution and obey warning signs to stay away from the edges of the Bluffs and away from construction sites regardless of machine activity.
Additional Storage Development- Update
We have had great response regarding interest in the rental storage units as mentioned in our last newsletter. (As a reminder, we are investigating the feasibility of storage units which could be rented to be used for golf carts as well as any other items one would typically store in outdoor units. These would be situated in the old tennis court area by the Woodworking Shop. These would be made available in the Fall/2018.) We are moving ahead with design and quotations and anticipate being able to provide more details regarding size and cost by June, 2018. If you have interest in the rental of one of these units, please contact the Administration Office to put your name on our list.
Wilmot Email Drive Competition-Reminder
We have achieved about 68% of the community for whom we have email addresses now. As a thank you to our residents, and to give everyone who has not participated a chance to do so, we will be entering ALL homeowners for whom we have proper email addresses into our own onsite draw for a $75 gift certificate for dinner at the restaurant of the winner’s choice. This contest will remain open until March 31st, 2018. The winners will be drawn on Tuesday, April 3rd at 3pm.
Controlled Entrance Gates – Two new heavy duty gate key pads have been ordered and we are expecting installation before the end of the month. Once the installation is complete, all gate arms will be in working order and the Service Road entrance gate will be keypad and transponder accessible.
We remind you again to ensure your transponder is in the correct position/location for optimal performance.
Customer Satisfaction Survey- reminder
All CAPREIT tenants/residents will be receiving a customer satisfaction survey in the next few weeks. This survey will be sent and compiled by a third party company who will provide CAPREIT with the results and trends to help us target and constantly improve our customer service and satisfaction. You will notice that some items will not apply to us as they had to also encompass the apartment side of the business. We would appreciate you taking the time to fill these out when they arrive.

Individual homeowner concerns/notifications
We would like to thank homeowners who take the time to bring their concerns and observations directly to us at the Administration Office. We would also like to thank your volunteer Homeowners Association members for bringing their concerns and observations to us on your behalf. We assure you all, as individual homeowners and clients, that we do not prioritize a phone call or email from one individual any more than another. You do not need to have “the ear” of any group or association member in order to have an issue addressed. Please feel free to contact the Administration Office directly. Often, we will have noticed something is amiss ourselves, and be taking steps to rectify when we also get a call from individuals and an Association member.
As your CAPREIT team we undertake to administer the community, contractors and ensure the adherence to the agreements everyone signed with their lease, to the best of our ability each day. That being said, your contributions in assisting us to prioritize your needs and respond as quickly as possible to correct any issues, is extremely helpful and much appreciated!
2017 Tax Rebate Cheques
IF your statement indicated that you are receiving a tax rebate this year, we have received half of the cheques at the Administration Office now. Please feel free to drop by or contact us to see if yours has arrived. Cheques will remain at the Admin Office until April 12th, at which time we will mail the remainders out to you.
HeatherLea Walkers Gate
The lock for this gate has gone missing! We ask that if anyone knows of its whereabouts to kindly contact the Administration office.
Telephone Scams
Some homeowners have received calls from people claiming to be with CRA Canada or a bank. The caller will say that you owe money or that a large sum of money has been withdrawn from your account. They will ask you to provide personal information. DO NOT provide them with any personal information. Please contact your bank branch or CRA to confirm if the call is legitimate.
