This special fundraiser event is about coming together, supporting one another, and showing the true strength of our community. There is no cost to attend, and all cash donations collected will go directly to the McLeod and Wabie families.

“Together we stand as a community.”

In honour of Waba and Izzy ❤️

We invite everyone to come together in support, compassion, and unity. Whether you train with us or not, this evening is for everyone. Let’s stand side by side and make a difference together.

Training at CBJJ Martial Arts isn’t just about learning self-defense — it’s about building a healthier, stronger body and mind for everyday life.

At CBJJ Martial Arts, training improves strength, balance, mobility, endurance, coordination, and confidence in ways that carry directly into daily activities. Moving better. Staying active. Protecting your health. Feeling energized and capable.

Regular martial arts training helps support functional strength, cardiovascular health, flexibility, and mental sharpness all at the same time. It’s a full-body workout that challenges you physically while also reducing stress and improving focus.

Staying active is one of the best things you can do for your body and mind. Keep showing up. Keep learning. Keep getting stronger. 💪

At 50 years old, people often ask me why I still compete in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The answer is simple… because growth never has an age limit.

Competing keeps me hungry. It forces me to set new goals, face new challenges, and continue evolving mentally, physically, and spiritually. Every training session, every hard round, and every competition reminds me that comfort is the enemy of progress.

Jiu Jitsu teaches us that adversity is inevitable, but quitting is always a choice. At this stage of life, I’m not chasing perfection — I’m chasing purpose. I want to prove to myself, my students, my children, and everyone watching that you are never too old to test yourself, to reinvent yourself, or to pursue greatness.

The body may age, but the spirit can remain relentless.

Set goals that scare you. Chase challenges that demand more from you. Stay disciplined. Stay humble. Keep showing up.

Because the moment we stop challenging ourselves… we stop growing.

The mats were on fire at the 2026 Ontario Open International Championship 🔥

Team CBJJ showed up with heart, discipline, and a level of technique that truly sets the standard. Every match was a battle—hard-fought, highly technical, and a reflection of countless hours spent sharpening our craft. From precise guard work to dominant positional control and well-executed submissions, our athletes demonstrated what high-level Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is all about.

This wasn’t just about wins and losses—it was about growth, resilience, and rising to the challenge against top talent from across the province and beyond. And CBJJ delivered.

A huge congratulations to all of our competitors. Stepping on those mats takes courage, and each of you represented the team with pride and class.

A special mention to Professor Chino for an outstanding performance—bringing home 🥇 gold in his division and 🥈 silver in the absolute open weight class. An incredible display of skill and determination.

And a big shoutout to Eric Wilson, who fought incredibly hard all the way to the finals, earning a well-deserved 🥈 silver medal in his division.

A notable mention to Theo, who stepped up in a big way—competing in a division two years older and 14 pounds heavier. He showed tremendous courage and determination through adversity, truly embodying the heart of a lion. 🦁

To all the parents—thank you. Your support, encouragement, and commitment behind the scenes make all the difference. This journey wouldn’t be possible without you.

We grow together. We rise together. CBJJ strong. 🥋💪

Flow state is where time disappears.
Where thought quiets.
Where movement becomes meditation.

When I flow with the steel mace, it’s more than training — it’s a spiritual connection. The weight moves around me, but it also moves through me. Every swing demands presence. Every transition requires breath. There’s no room for distraction… only awareness.

The mace teaches rhythm.
It teaches balance.
It teaches surrender and control at the same time.

In that flow state, you’re not just building strength — you’re building connection. Mind to body. Breath to movement. Effort to intention.

This is where discipline meets peace.
This is where training becomes therapy.

Step into the flow.
Feel the connection.
Become the movement.

In a world that moves fast, your breath is always there to bring you back home. 🌬️

Breath work and meditation aren’t just about relaxation — they’re about connection.

When you slow your breathing, you calm your nervous system.
When you sit in stillness, you sharpen your focus.
When you turn inward, you build awareness.

The benefits go far beyond the mat:
• Reduced stress and anxiety
• Improved mental clarity
• Better emotional control
• Deeper sleep
• Stronger mind-body connection

Your breath is a tool. A reset button. A source of strength.

Just 5–10 minutes a day can shift your energy, improve your performance, and help you respond to life instead of reacting to it.

Train your body.
Train your mind.
Master your breath.

Steel mace training is more than strength work — it’s moving meditation.

The rhythmic flow, the controlled swings, the focused breathing… every repetition demands presence. You can’t rush it. You can’t fake it. The mace teaches patience, awareness, and connection between mind and body.

As a form of meditative therapy, steel mace training helps release tension, improve mobility, and sharpen mental focus. It’s strength with intention. Power with control. Movement with meaning.

Private lessons are now available for those who want personalized guidance and deeper practice.

Life is always changing. New challenges, new seasons, new lessons. Nothing stays the same — and that’s exactly why we grow.

Every shift, every setback, every unexpected turn is teaching us something if we’re willing to listen. We don’t get stronger by standing still… we get stronger by adapting, learning, and choosing to move forward no matter what.

Remember: everything you go through shapes the person you become. Embrace the changes. Take the lesson. Keep walking your path with purpose.

You’re not being tested — you’re being trained.

Keep going. 🌟💪🔥
