Hello All!

I hope everyone is staying safe and healthy this time around. Two new updates:

1. Registration is now open! This does not mean that our season is 100% definite but this is a very good sign. The link to register is: https://rugbycanada.sportlomo.com

2. Check out our Instagram () for our brand new !!!GIVEAWAY!!! that is now live until the end of next week. All the equipment is age appropriate for both adults and kids!

Hello and Happy New Year to all! We are back for the 2021 season with some exciting news to share. We are introducing Celina Shamon as Wilmot RFC’s new intern for this season! Celina will be assisting us in coming up with some exciting new plans for rugby within our community. I am sure we are all very excited to get back into the swing of things, but we must follow Rugby Canada’s COVID rules as a club due to the circumstances that the pandemic has left us in. You will all be updated as soon as we attain any information regarding the upcoming season. Until then, Celina will help us create ideas on how we can enjoy all aspects of rugby in the safest ways possible, and we are excited to see what she comes up with! Who doesn’t love a good relay race?? Our players always got very excited to do them and we often had to do many rounds. Maybe they’d like to try a relay race at home! ➡️swipe for the game card. If you only have 2 players available, you can do 1v1 races and have them score a try at the end of their run. Disclaimer: the videos didn’t pan out as hoped sooo we have pictures instead!

GAME #1: FLAG FURY🚩 - a favourite of our players’! The game card can be seen above, but some modifications may need to be made. The number of players is highly flexible and the game can be played in whatever space you have. The object of the game is to collect the most flags by the end of the time. In the absence of flags, long socks, dish clothes or basically any grabable material will work. Simply tuck the “flag” into the pockets or waistband and go!

GAME #2: CAT AND MOUSE 🐱🐭- only requires 2 players! It’s essentially partner tag. One player is the cat, who chases the mouse. The mouse runs with a rugby ball, or if you do not have a ball, you can use a shampoo bottle or water bottle. The mouse is practicing proper ball carrying until they get tagged. Once they are tagged, they pass the ball to the other player who now becomes the mouse and wil be chased by the new cat.

Today would’ve been the start of our season...we are so sad we won’t get to see the smiling faces and enthusiastic participation of our wonderful rugby players on the field this year. We will be posting adaptations on some of the players’ favourite games for you to try at home. If you do try them, please tag us or send us a picture, we’d love to see your smiling faces virtually! 🌟REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN🌟
We have programs for U4-U14 with a drop-in option that will be available on the registration in a few days. The drop-in option allows you to come to 8 of our 16 sessions if you cannot commit to twice a week.
🌟Program details: we run Monday’s and Wednesday’s from 6:00pm to 6:45, 7:00 or 7:30 depending on the age group, from May 13th to July 8th. We have our sessions at the Wilmot Recreation Complex on field 3.
