Every meal tells a story.

It begins with the people who grow our food, continues in our kitchen, and ends around the table after a day in the mountains.

Our Hike & Harvest weekend is fully booked, but there are still a few opportunities to enjoy our farm-to-table dining experience:

Why we love September

Most people think July and August are the best months to visit the mountains.
We disagree.
September brings cooler hiking temperatures, golden alpine colours, quieter trails, and some of the clearest views of the year.
It’s a time when the pace slows down, the mountains become even more peaceful, and every hike feels a little more special.

For us, it’s one of the most rewarding times to be here.

What does a summer day at Valhalla Mountain Touring actually look like?

Long before dinner is served at the lodge, the story begins here.
At Kootenay Corner Gardens Thalia van der Holt & Josh Mateschitz , just down the valley, vegetables are grown with care, harvested by hand, and delivered fresh to our kitchen.
This connection between the mountains, local farms, and shared meals is at the heart of our Hike & Harvest experience.
Spend your day exploring alpine ridges and wild landscapes, then return to the lodge for a meal that celebrates the people and places that make the Kootenays so special.
It’s a simple idea: great days outside deserve great food.
