Happy belated Canada Day to our Canadian friends, and Happy Fourth of July to all of our American guests and friends celebrating today. We’re grateful to welcome anglers from both sides of the border to our little corner of Northwestern Ontario.

Here’s to long summer days, tight lines, and time well spent with friends and family. 🎣

The Beaver slipped in just ahead of the rain last night.

Sunshine has been hard to come by lately, but the long-range forecast is looking much better. Plenty of blue skies ahead with temps climbing into the low 70s. Perfect flying and fishing weather!

Our January deep freeze has finally ended, and this weekend’s melting temperatures have us feeling like we’ve turned a corner — spring is slowly making its way back north.

There are still a few months between us and walleye opener, but when the temps start to rise, it’s hard not to start counting down.

The ice is still holding strong, but the excitement for open water, early mornings in the boat, and that first catch of the season is building!
