🎨 We’re kicking off this summer’s Hummingbird Art Series with Paint the Peak on June 27!

Guided by Kootenay artist and former Whitewater Artist in Residence, Bryn Stevenson, you’ll learn plein air painting techniques while capturing the last lingering snow on the mountains before summer fully arrives. No experience required, and all supplies are included:

🖌️ 3 hours of instruction, demonstrations, and hands-on assistance
🎨 Canvas, acrylic paints, and brushes provided
⛰️ Stunning alpine views from the Hummingbird Lodge
✨ A creative, supportive atmosphere for artists of all levels

The Hummingbird Lodge Café, Boutique Suite, and RV & Forest Campgrounds open Friday, June 26 for the summer season, perfectly timed for Canada Day!

The Stellar Film Competition will be back next season, Feb 5th, 2027, this time on an even bigger stage at the Capitol Theatre! 

Remember, content for films can be shot anytime between Feb 2026 and Feb 2027 so if you’ve got an upcoming spring mission, remember to pull out the camera for it!

Birthdays all around! 🎉

is celebrating 21 years at their spot in town, and we were lucky to have them be part of our birthday with a custom Whitewater 50th Anniversary Blend. We’ve been serving it all season and will keep pouring it into the summer at the Hummingbird Lodge.

Oso Negro Café has long been a gathering place that reflects the creative, community-first spirit of Nelson, and we’re proud to carry a bit of that up at the Day Lodge.

We’re going all out with live music, a celebratory toast, guest speakers, and of course… birthday cake! 🎂
