The last days have been a whirlwind of activity and emotions. ⠀
⠀
My heart goes out to the farms across the lower mainland that have been devastated by flooding. I know how much our animals mean to us as a family and have been moved to see the rescue efforts. It will be a long road back for the farms that have been flooded, with buildings and feed stores very damaged and we all have those farmers in our thoughts. ⠀
⠀
Now at home we are grateful to be able to be part of feeding our community in this difficult time. We are doing everything we can to provide as much milk to our community as possible. We have stopped making cheese for the coming days and weeks and are dedicating all our milk production to fluid bottled milk. We are also running extra deliveries to the west Kootenays to try and refill empty milk coolers. ⠀
⠀
Our staff will be working extra hours today to run approximately 2000 extra litres of milk through our bottling line and drivers will be doing longer days Friday to get the milk out to all our stores. We could not do what we do without them and are very grateful for all their hard work. ⠀
⠀
We are hoping for some relief for farmers and families affected by the flooding and will continue to work hard to provide as much bottled milk as we can. ⠀
