All summer we have (neglected to post here, sadly, but) been hosting an art challenge with the Castlegar Youth Action Network to make a prayer-flag inspired string of fabric art about mental health awareness, inspired by this poem.
Summer was busy though, and pandemic life is so weird and tiring!
This art challenge is extended through September. Flags can look like whatever you want. There will be prizes too!

Zoom meet ups, digital art and covid block prints during this pandemic! These are intense times and it's great to be able to talk and be creative together. Health, racial equality, trans rights, Pride, graduation, college... there's a lot on the minds of the young artists and their friends...
We're still meeting Thursdays, 3-6pm on Zoom with the Castlegar Youth Action Network and in person on Mondays, 3-5pm for the rest of June in Millennium Park.

It's fun to make art together online using traditional mediums, and it's also fun to explore digital art mediums while hanging out on Zoom. Have you ever used Krita? Some of the artists in the Castlegar Youth Action Network like it. This was a fun digital finger painting of a tulip spotted yesterday!
