From the first year, race directors Alex Forsythe and Kim Irving had a vision. They saw this race as an opportunity to give back. To support children and families in our community. .kids was the first organization RLAM donated to, here is one place where your race fees go and all the wonderful things that have been done with the donations and support:
“For years, the generosity of Run Like a Mother has made a meaningful difference for children and families served by Kootenay Kids Society. Their ongoing support has helped bring special opportunities to life that otherwise may not have been possible.
One beautiful example was funding that allowed us to have children’s hand drums made. These drums have created joyful opportunities for music, rhythm, cultural connection, and creative expression for the children in our care.
RLAM support also helped us offer summer programming for the first time ever! This helped provide children and families with enriching experiences, connection, and care during the summer months when supports can be especially valuable.
