Join us at NELSON SCHOOL OF YOGA for an experiential workshop exploring the foundations of functional breathing through the Buteyko Method and Oxygen Advantage. This workshop is an opportunity to slow down, become more aware of your breath, and discover how the way you breathe can influence your energy, movement, recovery, and nervous system.
Christian brings a unique perspective to this work, with nearly 30 years of experience as a treefaller and climber, combined with his own personal journey as a 30-year asthma survivor. His experience with asthma led him to explore the Buteyko breathing method and Oxygen Advantage, and ultimately become a certified instructor in both systems. Drawing from both personal experience and professional training, heโll introduce practical techniques that you can incorporate into your everyday life.
Weโll explore the foundations of natural, efficient breathing, including the importance of nasal and diaphragmatic breathing. Through guided exercises and awareness practices, youโll learn how to recognize and shift inefficient breathing patterns and begin to re-establish greater balance within the body. More functional breathing can support the bodyโs ability to produce energy efficiently, maintain postural stability, move with greater ease, and recover more effectively during rest.
Youโll be guided through simple, accessible breathing practices designed to help settle the nervous system, stimulate the vagus nerve, and engage the parasympathetic branch of the autonomic nervous systemโthe bodyโs natural โrest and digestโ state.
Whether youโre interested in improving your breathing, supporting your physical performance and recovery, managing stress, or simply developing a deeper awareness, this workshop offers practical tools and an opportunity to experience the transformative potential of breathing well.
