Napanee and District - Caledonia Pipe Band The Napanee and District Caledonian Pipe Band is an incorporated Not-For-Profit, Self-Supporting Family oriented Organization.

The Napanee and district (Caledonia) Pipe Band is an incorporated Not-For –Profit, Self-Supporting Organization. The Purpose behind its formation, is:
1. To provide the Town of Napanee with a Parade Band;
2. To act as goodwill Ambassadors for the town and surrounding district;
3. To Preserve, promote and advance Scottish and Celtic Heritage;
4. To provide as ready source of Recreation and comrade

ship for those who share a common interest in Piping, Drumming and Scottish and Celtic culture. HISTORY
The Band was formed in Canada’s Centennial year of 1967. In its nearly 50 year history the Band traveled extensively throughout Canada and the United States including performances in Indiana, New Orleans, Montreal, Toronto and Nova Scotia as well as local communities such as Bath, Picton , Kingston, Belleville, Desronto. And of course it home base, Napanee. TARTAN
The Macpherson tartan was the original tartan worn by the Band, was chosen to honour the name one of the earliest settlers of Napanee, Allan Macpherson. In 2001, the Band changed the tartan to the “Scotland 2000” tartan, which was created and registered with the Court of the Lord Lyon of Scotland to celebrate the then new Millennium. At this time the Band added the “Caledonia”, the Gaelic word for Scotland, to its name.
