Time for some member spotlight! I am so proud of what Marshall has accomplished in such a short period of time. There's no stopping him now! What would I do without your witty sarcasm?

"My name is Marshall; I am a serial moaner and would rather stick pins in my eyes than exercise. In my younger years I smoked, worked long hours, and ate and drank too much. In fact, I still drink more than I should. I am now in my senior years and if I knew that I was going to live this long I would have taken better care of myself.

Life creeps up on you, in my case overweight; high blood pressure no flexibility and debilitating painful arthritis. It was time to get a grip on my life.

My wife, who has been exercising for a number of years, suggested that I should meet with her trainer Dallyn Giroux. As skeptical as I was, I agreed to undertake a controlled exercise program designed to work on my flexibility, posture and combat the onset of arthritis.

Dallyn has brought about a major change in my lifestyle, in the six+ months that I have worked with her I have lost thirty lbs, improved my flexibility, improved my posture, and my doctor has taken me off medication to control blood pressure. Even better -my golf game has improved.

I have come a long way in a short time gently but forcefully guided by Dallyn. I have been pulled often kicking and screaming to perform exercise that six months ago was just not attainable. I owe her a debt of gratitude for my good health which is truly down to her skill as a personal trainer.

So, have I put away the pins? Largely, in recognition that regular exercise is vital for seniors if you want to have mobility for a lifetime, but I know where we keep them."

Hey everyone , we want you to check out this yummy recipe. It's a fun and easy way to dress up your protein (specifically fish 🐟). If you don't eat dairy just drop the 1 tsp of butter from the recipe, like I did, and it still tastes great.
Leave a comment if you try it and enjoy πŸ‘ŒπŸ»

Cod filets are rubbed with a flavorful spice mixture before roasting to perfection. Top this roasted chili-lime cod is with a delicious lime-butter sauce!

Hey everyone, we wanted to get this video out to you as it is extremely important to be aware of how you carry yourself throughout the day. Be mindful of having your shoulders relaxed, ensure your jaw is relaxed, keep your chest proud, and do not slouch. I caught Dallyn in a horrible "texting" position as shown here. There are a few more tips in the video, please watch and comment πŸ‘πŸ»πŸ’ͺ🏻 Thanks and have a super weekend !

NEWS FLASH: Dining out doesn't have to mean compromising your good nutrition habits! No matter where you go there are lots of little tips and tricks you can use to ensure you stay on track. For example, ask for grilled meat instead of fried, substitute things like yams for white potatoes, vinaigrettes for creamy dressings/sauces, lettuce for buns/wraps, and honey for refined sugars to name a few. Don't be shy when you're making special requests! Add value to what you put in your body, and remember to choose local when possible!

I am so proud of Heather Holmes, and her continual progress. She is stronger, has more endurance and has lost both pounds and inches since we started working together.
She has written a bit about herself and her training experience.

Like many people I have struggled with my weight for years. I have had a few gym memberships in the past. All started out well with a workout buddy then the buddy would stop going. I would try and go alone then I would lose all motivation to go. And then all the weight I lost would come back. It was a yo-yo affect like a bad diet. A few years ago I suffered a work related injury that needed surgery to fix and gained some more weight which I did not really need to gain. I got to the point where I said to myself this is not the life I want and I need to change my habits. So my friend and I joined a gym together and started going regularly. This is where I met Alana. She asked me all sorts of questions about my health, eating habits, how much water I drink etc. She would come up with challenging workouts and I would push myself during them because I get a sense of accomplishment when I push myself further than the week before. Knowing how far you have come since the beginning of the journey till now is amazing. Working out has made me sleep better, feel better, increased my energy and an over all good feeling. Working with Alana is an awesome experience. She always gives you encouragement during a workout to keep you going just that little bit more when you don’t think you can go any further. Having Alana as a personal trainer has made my weight loss journey more achievable. She has shown me ways to make weight loss a bit easier even though we all know weight loss is hard. But in the end it is you that determines if you will have the results you want or not. It takes dedication and discipline to get the results you are looking for and if you keep in mind you did not gain all the weight in a day then it will take longer than a day to lose it. I am always reminding myself of this if I miss a day at the gym, eat more than I should or cave into the craving for cookies or ice cream. I am only human and will make mistakes but I do not beat myself up about it. I take it to the gym and use it as motivation to get back on track to where I want to be in the future.
