I Was chatting with this amazing soul I met at oxygen today. We started out as acquaintances, then friends and now we’re colleagues. 💕

We were discussing our favourite parts of instructing. There were a LOT of things we LOVE. For example: the growth we see in each and every one of you. We love being a part of it, we love seeing it, we love being reminded of our own growth too. We talked about community- and how great our members are at welcoming in the newer members, and Jo though back to the time she met someone in class, and that person became her best friend. You never know what you might find here at oxygen.

You may not find your best friend, but there are 2 things you will find here for certain. Growth and community.

I love you all my buddies! If there is anyone uncertain of trying something new, I highly recommend.

Today we celebrate the gateway onto this earth. I am a powerful force AND a gentle nurturer. My life has value. I offer knowledge and love. I know this because I see it in the eyes of my sensitive boys, who both said why isn’t everyday international women’s day? In my life it is. I am a legend in my home. The one who makes snacks. The one who comforts. The one who protects. The one who listens. The one who hustles. Did I get here alone? Certainly not. I have a community of fierce mamas and women and young girls lifting me up so I have shine brighter than any diamond. I am SO GRATEFUL for all the women before me that struggled so I could have the beautiful life I have today. To all the men out there who supported women because we are PEOPLE, husband I’m talking to you! Thank you.

To anyone who has been marginalized. I see you. We got this.

I took a yoga class. It was humbling. I didn’t think this last shut down affected me that much, considering it was a month long and I was active for about 2 of those 4 weeks. After having some tough conversations with myself, I dug a little deeper and found some compassion for myself. Repeat after me. Consistency is key, child. We all start somewhere. Sometimes we start In The same place a few times over. It’s not about where I was 20 years ago, or where I will be 10 years from now. It’s about where I am now. So I’m starting with consistency.

Remember when you come to the studio, you are going for your PERSONAL BEST. Based on how you are feeling in THAT MOMENT. Comparison is the thief of joy. So if you are coming to class and struggling with what’s going on around you, take a deep breath and move inward. Ain’t nobody lookin’ at you but you gang! If we are looking at you, it’s because we LOVE you, and SUPPORT you!
