Congratulations to the Lakeshore Whitecaps on winning the Muskoka Cup 18U A division this past weekend. Lakeshore beat a strong team from St Thomas 7-2 in the final. Great tournament with great sportsmanship displayed by all teams - special thanks to 18U head coach Derek Watson-Brown and his parent group for ensuring smooth sailing all weekend and to Josh Shaw for convening and doing everything possible to get diamonds playable despite the Saturday downpour.

Muskoka Hornets 16u AA cruised through the round robin and semi finals of the Mississauga Majors tournament this past weekend before running into WOBA.

After mercying its first four opponents, the 16s ran into a strong opponent from western Ontario in WOBA in the finals, succumbing 9-4 in a back and forth game that was undecided until the late innings.

Despite the loss, the locals, posing below with its WOBA opponent, proved it is one of the strongest AA teams in the province and a force to be reckoned with this summer.

Jen Novak, our sponsorship and fundraising coordinator, poses with Bracebridge Mayor Rick Maloney at a get together this week for recipients of 2026 Bracebridge Tourism Grants. The Hornets would like to thank Bracebridge for its $1000 grant to our program to assist with the funding of our summer tournament schedule which kicks into gear next weekend June 5-7 with the 18u tournament at Holm Diamond at Kerr Park in Bracebridge and Selkirk Diamond at McCulley Robertson Sports Complex in Huntsville.

⚾️🐝 Lots of local baseball happening around Muskoka this weekend! 🐝⚾️

From our youngest tournament players to our older travel teams, the Hornets will be taking the field across the region, and we'd love to see plenty of black and yellow in the stands!

If you're looking for something fun to do, come out, enjoy the beautiful weather, cheer on our athletes, and support local baseball. There is nothing better than hearing the crowd behind our players as they compete and represent Muskoka.

Getting close to usage of new batting cage at Selkirk diamond at McCulley Robertson Sports Complex in Huntsville- just need to staple down the green outdoor carpet and we will be all set - should be done in a couple weeks - check out the beautiful sunset last night during the 18u practice .

With improved lighting, bullpens and a plaque honoring the diamond naming after George Selkirk all to be completed this year, once finished this diamond will be one of the best in Ontario. Special thanks to the Town of Huntsville for its support.

Today our Muskoka Hornets celebrated the final weekend of Muskoka Outlaws high school baseball for 2026 with a day at the Holm ballpark in Bracebridge where Hornets players helped out with warm ups and cheered on the Outlaws in doubleheader play. The Outlaws split two games with a strong Canadian Bulldogs squad, with the visitors winning the opener 5-2 with the locals taking the nightcap of the twin bill 4-2.

The two teams are back at it tomorrow weather permitting as the skies opened up shortly after the second Saturday game ended.

Good luck to our Outlaws friends tomorrow as they look to finish the season with a couple more Ws.
