❗ It's almost berry season! To ensure public safety and to allow bears to access important food sources at this critical time of year, we have made some changes for the following areas:
- Sofa scramble route
- Wishbone trail to Crypt landing
- Vimy Peak trail

In these areas…
🧑‍🤝‍🧑🧑‍🤝‍🧑All hikers must travel in a group of four or more. The maximum distance between two individuals must not exceed 3 metres and should be less when sight or hearing is reduced by physical surroundings.
🐻Groups must carry bear spray at all times.
🐎Horse riders must travel in minimum group size of two horses and two riders.
🐕Dogs are not permitted.
🚲Bicycles are not permitted.
Keeping wildlife wild is a shared responsibility – we all have a role to play, please respect all trail and area restrictions.

Planning to hit the road this summer? Every year, many motorists have the unfortunate experience of a collision with wildlife. There are a few things you can do to reduce road risks:

- Scan the roadway and ditches ahead for animals
- Watch for the shining eyes or silhouette of an animal at night and use high beams when safe to do so.
- Slow down if an animal is on or near the road and be prepared to stop. Their behavior can be unpredictable.
- Look for more than one animal - some travel in groups.
- Brake firmly if an animal is in your path, and don't swerve to avoid it.
- Don't throw food or food wrappers out your vehicle as this attracts animals
- Watch for wildlife warning signs and slow down in areas where animal crossing signs are posted.

- Dial 310-0000 to reach the nearest fish and wildlife office in cases where an animal is injured and unable to move or poses a threat to public safety. Or call our 24/7 Report A Poacher line at 1-800-642-3800.
