So if you have started to run or you’re starting to walk and you are suffering from shin splints, I’m going to show you a few stretches one of the things that is very important. Is to stretch out your calf muscles and also strengthen the tibialis anterior muscle. The muscle in the front of your shin so you want to do a calf stretch with your leg straight and then your knee bent. Down dog is a wonderful stretch and then using contrast therapy applying heat to your shins for 10 minutes, then an ice pack for five minutes. Alternating this three times. To start you walk or run warm up your body first then stretch the calf muscles. Another thing to consider is often times we’ve tried to run too fast too soon or we’ve increased our distance so back off a little bit just be a little more gentle with yourself. Your shin splints should resolve any more questions pop them in the comments.
