Last season, Karter was the underdog. Not the biggest kid. Not the one people expected to dominate.

So he did the thing that changes everything: he trained in the off-season. Consistently. With coaching. Building strength, stability, and explosiveness: the stuff that actually carries over to the ice.

By the end of the year he was harder to knock off the puck, more confident in contact, and earned Player of the Game more than 3 times.

That’s what “building the engine” looks like.

Breakaway Spring Camp is built around the exact work that got Karter there, stability + body control, quicker first steps, strength, power, and agility under pressure.

Thea! 3 years at Black Bar Fitness, and you’ve kept the same thing from day one: that competitive drive. You don’t just train to get through a workout, you train to get better.

This year you’ve been reaching for the higher RX level more and more, and it’s showing. Sets of 11 chest-to-bar pull-ups. Dialing in your toes-to-bar work. Choosing the harder option because you want the growth that comes with it.

A year ago, Bayne walked into the Open staring down pull-ups… and they just weren’t there yet.

And I’ll never forget what she did next: she didn’t make excuses, she didn’t laugh it off, she didn’t avoid it. She decided it was going to change.

So for the last 12 months she’s been quietly putting in the reps; the strength work, the practice, the hangs, the “try again” sets, the patience when progress felt slow. The stuff nobody posts. The stuff that actually builds capacity.

This year? She hit 8 pull-ups in her Open workout.
That’s not a small win. That’s a full-on transformation in a skill that used to stop her in her tracks.

And you’re still stacking wins. This year you hit a 105 lb 1-rep overhead squat and an 80 lb 3-rep sn**ch, huge milestones that prove you’re not just maintaining. You're still progressing.
