🚨 Head Coach Announcement – Sturgeon Sting U13AA 🚨
Sturgeon Hockey Club is excited to announce that Greg Northcott will be returning as Head Coach of the U13AA Sting for the 2026/2027 season! 🏒
Greg brings over a decade of elite coaching experience and a long history of success within the game. He began his coaching career with the St. Albert Raiders U15AA program, where he spent three seasons, before moving on to the CAC U16AAA division.
In 2015, Greg joined the Sturgeon Sting as Head Coach of the U15AA team in its inaugural season, where he spent three successful years building a strong foundation alongside his staff. He later moved up to the U18AA Sting, coaching for four seasons and continuing to develop high-level players, with many advancing to junior hockey programs across Canada and the United States.
This past season, Greg and his staff quickly brought the U13 Sting together, setting clear expectations, building trust early, and establishing a strong team standard. Roles were clearly defined and embraced, effort remained consistent, and the standard never slipped.
Year after year, Greg’s teams play with intensity, commitment, and pride, and that competitive mindset carried into playoffs, where the Sting went a perfect 3–0 in the regional round-robin. The team finished 2nd in the East Division and 3rd overall in the Rural Conference, reflecting a strong and consistent season built on culture, structure, and accountability.
Greg’s passion for the game and commitment to player development remain at the core of his coaching philosophy:
“My passion for the game has inspired my coaching career. I continue to learn and strive to provide the best leadership, while encouraging young hockey players to utilize and develop their own skills to become the best that they can be.”
For these reasons, and with full confidence in his leadership, we are thrilled to welcome Greg Northcott back behind the bench for another season. 🐝
