Waterfowl season just kicked off, but honestly, we’re ready to case the waterfowl gear. There is a different kind of magic calling from the wide open Sask praries right now.

We are ready to trade the muddy fields , decoys, and the semi autos for the quiet beauty of the autumn plains of Saskatchewan . It is time to break out the classic side-by-sides and over-unders, lace up the boots, and watch the dogs work miles of bird country.

Nothing beats the sudden, heart-stopping thud of a grouse flushing through the thickets. Duck hunting is great, but wild Huns and Sharpies in the flat lands is something else.

Small dogs, big hearts, and a nose for wild Huns. 🐶🪶

There’s nothing quite like watching a little Brittany Spaniel work the wide-open Saskatchewan prairies, weaving through the grass and locking up on a wild Hungarian partridge.

They may be small, but they hunt like they’ve got something to prove. From the first point to the final retrieve, these little dogs bring the fire every step of the way.

Wild Huns, good dogs, and wide-open prairie — that’s what it’s all about. 🇨🇦🌾
