Is this your family’s first hockey season? Welcome — we’re so happy to have you as part of the MTMHA family!

We know that getting started in hockey can feel a little overwhelming. What equipment does my child need? How should skates fit? What size helmet do we buy? How do I know if everything fits properly?

📚🏒 HOCKEY PLAYERS ARE BACK TO SCHOOL! 🚌

As everyone settles back into school routines, our roads are getting busier too. Please take a little extra time on your morning and afternoon commute.

🚌 Watch for school buses and flashing lights
🚶 Keep an eye out for students walking and crossing
🚗 Slow down, stay alert and be patient

🏒 MTMHA Reclassification Meeting Update

Thank you to everyone who attended last night’s Membership Meeting regarding the future classification of Mooretown Minor Hockey. We had a great turnout and appreciate our members taking the time to attend, ask questions and have their voices heard.

Following the meeting, over 60% of the members in attendance voted in favour of MTMHA pursuing a change to an ‘A’ centre for the 2027/28 season.

What happens next?

The MTMHA Hockey Committee will now begin preparing a formal proposal requesting a change in classification. This proposal will be submitted to OMHA by October for consideration.

It is important to note that the membership vote allows MTMHA to move forward with the application process. The change in classification is not yet final and will require approval from both OMHA and OHF.

We anticipate receiving a decision before the New Year and will continue to keep our membership informed as the process moves forward.

MTMHA ‘A’ HOCKEY MEMBERSHIP MEETING

📅 TONIGHT – Wednesday, September 2
⏰ 7:30 p.m.
📍 Above Rink 1

This is an important opportunity for our membership to get informed, ask questions and have a voice in the future of Mooretown Minor Hockey.

🗳️ A MEMBERSHIP VOTE WILL FOLLOW THE MEETING.

We require the support of 60% of the membership present at the meeting to move forward.

All registered families from U5 through U21 are strongly encouraged to attend. Each family is entitled to ONE vote.

With renovations currently underway at the Moore Sports Complex, the water bottle filling station is not available at this time.

👉 Please remember to bring your water bottle FULL before heading to the rink!

Tap water at the facility is safe to drink if you need a refill.
