If you know of anyone who is interested in a used sailboat that needs TLC, call us at 705-347-1533. Some have mast and sails some are just the hull.
This is not a free for all. Some boats belong to members. Contact us first.

Reminder to all members that all personal equipment is your personal responsibility to remove from the site before winter. If you wish to leave anything to be stored, please email [email protected] to arrange payment.

$50 for open season or closed season
$100 for year round

Any items not removed or paid for storage will be considered abandoned and removed in the spring.

Interested in learning some sailing basics?

Club Member, Dave Measor, will be putting a session together for interested persons. This is not an accredited course, it’s an experienced member sharing his knowledge.

Who
Anyone interested in learning some basic sailing skills. Mature responsible teens or older. This is not a summer camp daycare.

When
7 Aug – 7PM Land training – Basics of sailing and rigging, safety weather.
8,9 Aug – 09:30AM On water training, Rigging, sail simple routes, dump and recovery exercises

Remi Lake Yacht Club, 13 Sailing club road

Fees
Members - $25
Non Members - $40
Non refundable after 04 August

Equipment required by students:
The students must supply their own Ministry of Transport approved lifejacket which corresponds with their size/weight, in good repair.
Glasses straps if you have glasses
Water shoes
Sunscreen
Lunch/water

Space will be limited so please send your interest via email to [email protected]. We will reply if you are on the course or on the standby list. Payment will be expected within 2 days of notification. If there is a lot of interest, there MAY be a second training session planned.

Annual General Meeting (2020)
We kept postponing due to COVID lockdowns and restrictions but now we need to wrap up last year to be able to move on with this year.
When: 01 April 2021, 7PM
Where: To be confirmed
Who: Anyone may attend but due to possible COVID restrictions, we are asking anyone who plans to attend to send an email to [email protected] to register. This is to ensure we have enough space and seating to accommodate social distancing guidelines. Please email us no later than 19 March.
The board's two year term is also up, so if you wish to nominate someone, please email [email protected] for a copy of the nomination form. These should also be submitted no later than 19 March 2021.

Happy New Year to past, current and future members!

Although last year was not the booming reboot to the club that we had hoped for, due to COVID restrictions, there were still improvements and steps forward.

Before moving on to the new year, we would like to take a moment to thank some outside help.

Firstly we would like to thank Pierre Brunelle (Barrister, Solicitor, Notary) for offering his time to provide the club with legal advice and guidance, This enabled us to keep on track toward a successful revival of the club. Additionally, we would like to thank him for the generous donation of a Bombardier Invitation sailboat for the members to use.

Secondly we would like to thank Environmental 360 Solutions, E360S, for the use of a portable toilet on our property. They also provided regular cleaning services which was greatly appreciated by all who used it.

Finally we would like to thank all the members who contributed to improvements, maintenance and a great season overall.

Looking forward, we wish everyone a healthy New Year!

Attention Past Members:

The Club will be conducting a year end clean up of the property. There’s a lot of “stuff” that has no known owner. If you have any personal items from sailboats to flippers, please let us know by emailing [email protected] by 18 Sept 2020.

As there have already been a lot of items donated, we will have to assume that unclaimed items have been donated.

Please do not assume that someone knows what’s yours as some items may be discarded.

Looking forward to next year, we will try to have the revival of the club that we wanted to this summer, unfortunately the current COVID-19 restrictions put that on hold.
