Somang Hockey Academy est très fière d’annoncer l’embauche de Jordon Southorn à titre de nouvel entraîneur-chef de l’équipe Prep.
Ancien choix de repêchage des Sabres de Buffalo de la LNH, Coach Southorn a connu une carrière professionnelle de 20 ans où il s’est illustré dans plusieurs des meilleurs ligues au monde comme la LHJMQ, la AHL, la KHL, la DEL ainsi que la Ligue Magnus.
Né à Montréal, au Québec, Coach Southorn apporte à notre programme un niveau exceptionnel d’expérience sur la glace, de leadership et de connaissances hockey. Encore plus important, il a vécu de première main les différents chemins possibles pour les joueurs qui veulent évoluer au hockey junior, universitaire, professionnel et sur la scène internationale.
« On est vraiment excités d’accueillir Jordon dans la famille Somang », a déclaré Michael Bujold, président de Somang Hockey Academy. « Son parcours est impressionnant, mais ce qui nous enthousiasme le plus, c’est l’expérience et la vision qu’il va apporter à nos joueurs. Jordon a joué au plus haut niveau en Amérique du Nord et en Europe, et il comprend exactement ce que ça prend pour réussir sur la glace comme en dehors. Il sera un mentor exceptionnel pour nos étudiants-athlètes. »
Avec le début de ce nouveau chapitre, nous tenons aussi à remercier et à souhaiter la meilleure des chances à notre ancien entraîneur. Un sincère merci à Stefan Fournier pour son dévouement et son professionnalisme au cours des deux dernières saisons. Il a énormément contribué à notre programme, et nous lui souhaitons tout le succès possible dans ses prochains défis au niveau collégiale.

Somang Hockey Academy is proud to announce the hiring of Jordon Southorn as its new Prep Team Head Coach. Coach Southorn is a former Buffalo Sabres NHL draft pick who excelled in some of the best leagues in the world such as the QMJHL, AHL, KHL, DEL and Ligue Magnus over his illustrious 20-year professional career.
Born in Montréal, Quebec, Coach Southorn brings an exceptional level of playing experience, leadership, and hockey knowledge to our program. Just as importantly, he has gained firsthand experience navigating the many pathways available to players pursuing opportunities in junior hockey, collegiate hockey, professional hockey, and international competition.
“We are thrilled to welcome Jordon to the Somang family,” said Michael Bujold, President of Somang Hockey Academy. “His hockey résumé is outstanding, but what excites us most is the experience and perspective he will bring to our players. Jordon has played at the highest levels in North America and Europe and understands what it takes to succeed both on and off the ice. He will be an incredible mentor for our student-athletes.”
As a new chapter begins, we say farewell and all the best to our previous coach. A sincere thank you to Coach Stefan Fournier for his dedication and professionalism over the past two seasons. He added a huge amount to our program, and we wish him nothing but success in his next challenge at the Collegiate Level!
