Was a great weekend for some of our Five Coordinations community at this year’s annual USKSF tournament in Baltimore, Maryland. Two of our students, Ashley and Marta, joined their “cousins” from Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy in Boston to compete in tai chi and kung fu. And Sifu Eric was recognized by both the USKSF and, surprisingly, the Massachusetts State House of Representatives for his efforts in promoting Kuo Shu (kung fu).

Ce fut un excellent week-end pour certains membres de notre communauté « Five Coordinations » lors du tournoi annuel de l'USKSF, qui s'est tenu cette année à Baltimore, dans le Maryland. Deux de nos élèves, Ashley et Marta, ont rejoint leurs « cousins ​​» de la Calvin Chin’s Martial Arts Academy de Boston pour participer aux épreuves de tai-chi et de kung-fu. Par ailleurs, Sifu Eric a été mis à l'honneur tant par l'USKSF que — fait surprenant — par la Chambre des représentants du Massachusetts, en reconnaissance de ses efforts pour promouvoir le Kuo Shu (kung-fu).

Sifu Eric returned to Boston this past weekend to join our FHTHM system's flagship school in celebrating its 30th anniversary, delivering respects from our Five Coordinations Martial Arts community and assisting GM Chin in the official launch of his book, "Traditional Martial Arts in the Modern Day". Sifu Eric est retourné à Boston la fin de semaine passée pour se joindre à l'école phare de notre système FHTHM afin de célébrer son 30e anniversaire, offrant les respects de notre communauté de Arts Martiaux Cinq Coordinations et aidant le GM Chin pour le lancement officiel de son livre, "Traditional Martial Arts in the Modern Day".

It's here! GM Chin's book, complete after 2 years of writing, and several more spent interviewing and discussing, is now available. (Note: if you're from our Five Coordinations community and ordered a signed copy, it's on it's way!)

Big anniversary for GM Chin and the flagship school in our FHTHM system!

CCMAA is celebrating 30 years at this year’s open house! We’re inviting all alumni to come back — whether you’d like to perform or simply join us in the audience, we would love to have you there. Our current beginner's tai chi 6-week program is well under way, and one of the concepts we've covered is tai chi walking. Did you know that it's become a recent craze? Yet our roots in Wu style tai chi chuan go back generations! 🙂

Notre programme de tai-chi pour débutants, d’une durée de six semaines, est déjà bien entamé, et l’un des concepts que nous avons vus est la marche en tai-chi. A special event for our FHTHM system, celebrating 30 years for our flagship school in Boston (roughly 55 years for the system in New England, going back to our founder).

CCMAA’s Open House (which raises funds to support the Helen Gee Chin Scholarship Foundation) has been scheduled well in advance, as we will be celebrating two important milestones: 30 years of the Academy and 15 years of the Foundation. Please mark your calendars for June 28th.

It’s a wonderful opportunity to reconnect with friends, and in this milestone year, we especially hope to see alumni, parents, and even scholarship recipients (please RSVP to [email protected]).

The event will include student and instructor performances, crafts and t-shirts for purchase, and raffle and auction items benefiting the Foundation.

Five Coordinations Martial Arts is a young not-for-profit in NDG, dedicated to promoting the teaching and practice of traditional Chinese martial arts.
