Registration closes September 19 for our fall Ecotherapy for Improved Focus Program, starting the week of September 21.

If you work with clients caught in the ADHD cycle of overwhelm, procrastination, and avoidance, this program was built for them. Over five weeks, it combines weekly online sessions with in-person outdoor activities, all grounded in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and ecotherapy principles, to help clients build focus and a steadier relationship with themselves.

What makes it different:
- Clients build real skills in focus, regulation, and presence, not just coping
- Works particularly well for ADHD diagnoses and executive function struggles
- Sliding-scale rates available
- Insurance receipts provided for psychological services

Registration closes Sept. 19. Program starts the week of Sept. 21.

🇫🇷 Reporting live from the ACBS World Conference in Lyon!

Feeling energized and inspired by the clinical insights and community here. I just finished a wonderful experiential workshop on embodiment that has my wheels turning.

I’m so excited to incorporate these practices not only into my day-to-day ecotherapy work, but also directly into our upcoming professional trainings. 🌿

There is so much more to share, so stay tuned for more clinical takeaways!

Welcome! I’m so happy to see you here. 🌿✨

My name is Moire, and I’m a Clinical Psychologist, Biology nerd, internationally recognized ecotherapy expert, and founder of Mindfulness Outdoors.

I started Mindfulness Outdoors back in 2021 because I needed balance in my life, and saw that same need in others. As a therapist, I knew the science - but as a person, I needed the medicine of connecting to nature. Time in nature has always been the connector, the energy booster, the harmonizer that makes me a better provider and a more well-rounded person.

Now, 250+ events and hundreds of trained therapists later, my mission is to help you discover that same connection.

What we do here at Mindfulness Outdoors:
🌲 Community: Free and low-cost walks, skiing, and kayaking (mostly around Montreal!).
☀️ Restoration: Full-day retreats to build your lifelong wellness toolkit.
⛰️ Deep Resets: Weekend immersions for your nervous system.
🌿 Therapeutic Programs: Closed-group ecotherapy for deeper, guided healing.
🎓 Professional Training: Online and in-person training for mental health professionals.

On this page, you’ll find educational tid-bits, information on upcoming events, cheesy-yet-inspirational perspectives on nature and wellness, and practices you can implement in your day-to-day life to improve your wellbeing.

We’re so glad you’re here to join our community.

Drop a “🌲” in the comments if you’re ready to head outside!

Have you ever found yourself having one of those days, where you’re so tired it feels like you’re dragging through? And no amount of caffeine can fix it?

Today, I felt myself recharge by getting outside, taking a few deep breaths, and letting myself actually absorb the day.

Nature has a way of resetting your nervous system that coffee indoors just can’t touch. If you’re struggling to get through your day, this is your sign to simply step outside, and notice the beauty around you. 🌿✨

Ready to reset? Follow for more nature-based wellness.

I’m curious - have you been outside today?

🌿 How does Ecotherapy work?

When you’re outdoors doing therapeutic activities, your brain literally changes its chemistry. Spending time in nature increases dopamine and serotonin levels (the focus and feel-good chemicals ADHD brains often lack) while lowering cortisol stress hormones.

This program combines structured outdoor activities like hiking, gardening, or waterside meditation with traditional therapeutic techniques. Instead of sitting in an office, you’re processing emotions and building coping skills while your nervous system naturally regulates from being in green spaces.

Research shows that just 20 minutes in nature can significantly improve attention span and reduce hyperactivity symptoms. The combination of movement, fresh air, natural light, and connecting with nature creates the perfect environment for ADHD brains to find calm and focus.

What makes this different? You’re not just talking about your challenges - you’re actively experiencing relief while learning practical tools. Your therapy session might involve forest bathing, mindful walking, or hands-in-the-dirt gardening activities.

For anyone managing ADHD, this approach offers real, measurable benefits backed by solid science.
