ciele athletics portraits #008 : martin st-pierre

martin is ciele athletics' community specialist and manager of the espace | MTL store. growing up riding mountain bikes and skiing through the woods of knowlton, he came to running late — and never looked back. today, he shares that passion with montreal's running community, and has naturally become a beloved figure in it: always down for the wildest projects, and lucky enough to have turned his passion into his work.

ciele athletics portraits is a short video series highlighting those close to us in the community — our FRNDs&FAM, and members of our team at ciele HQ.

“though some might argue differently, in my opinion, london is the cheer capital of the world. from mad scenes at cutty sark, 20 deep crowds at tower bridge and the run-festival that is the embankment, you will never be short of a word of encouragement. this year we’re getting involved roadside at limehouse - mile 21 - so come down and enjoy music, beers from our friends at pretty decent beer co, soft drinks and all the good vibes. »

james poole is a london local, content creator and ultra runner. he’s been FRNDs and FAM pretty much since the beginning and he’s run the london marathon seven times. it’s fair to say what he doesn’t know about running in the capital is probably not worth knowing.

kelly whittaker-cummings is a boston-based certified run coach with a serious racing résumé — 47 full marathons including 11 boston marathons, a 2:58:08 PR at chicago, plus 2 ultramarathons — who has channeled that experience into coaching. a long-time ciele FRNDs and FAM member, she runs kelly's run club with a philosophy built around consistency, progress, and showing up for yourself.

not at the start, not in the middle, but somewhere just beyond. the legs settle, the breath finds its place, and the rhythm takes over.

distance nirvana.

the road carries. wind, temperature, terrain, all of it folds into your forward motion. Nothing interrupts. Nothing pulls you out. Everything connects, and for a moment, it feels inevitable.
