Pain is a megaphone, friend.

It's not a scary monster - it's just alerting you to something inside that needs attention.

It's alerting you to the places in your heart that need more love ♥️

The pace of healing is slow. It's gentle. It's tender.

And facing pain can feel so scary..

But once we realise facing it won't take us out, we can face it in doses.

And slowly start to heal what's been hidden.

I love this quote, because pain really does have a way of clipping our wings so we're not able to fly...

And if left unresolved, we almost forget we were ever created to fly in the first place.

So take your time, friend. God has all the time in the world to bring the healing and safety you need to thrive.

He wants to show you the areas of your heart that need to experience radical, unconditional love.

He wants to break down your boxes of where you think you're lovable and where you think you're not.

God says you're lovable NOW. And He wants to love you RIGHT in the middle of your mess ♥️

And the crazy thing is, THIS is what transforms you... love without an agenda.

Not being loved so you change. Being loved even if you NEVER change ♥️

When you believe you're worthy of love, you won't give your worth away to someone else ⤵️⁠

You won't be scared to do or say something that causes people to think you're not good enough...⁠
⁠
And failure, rejection or missing the mark won't speak to your value.⁠
⁠
You'll start to question.. is THIS person, situation, etc. worth it for ME? ⁠
⁠
Knowing your worth flips the script.. and that's what God wants to do in YOUR life, friend ✍️🤍⁠
⁠
When love isn't sourced in people's opinions, if they like us, if they choose us... then we feel okay, because we KNOW they're not our source of love.⁠
⁠
So if you struggle with any of this, ask God to show you who or what you've given your worth away to and where the need to do that comes from.⁠

He wants to help you get to the root, so you can take your worth back and live unshakable ❤️‍🔥⁠

If you struggle to be yourself and see your worth, read on ⤵️

Fun Fact: I met Jesus for the first time today 10 years ago at the Garden Tomb in Israel 🥲

I walked into the Easter Sunrise service feeling SO in pain, frustrated, and wanting to be ANYWHERE but Jerusalem that morning.

And then the worship started... and His presence hit my heart and filled me with fire.

I felt SO loved, for the first time in my entire life. It felt like a 50 ton boulder lifted off my shoulders...

And I couldn't help but raise my hands.

I walked out of that service forever changed. Even though surrendering my WHOLE heart and getting to know how good He is has been a process (hellooo working out our salvation 😅👋)...

It all started on this day. And I'll never stop being thankful for it.

Before this, I'd dealt with the spirit of rejection over my life for so long, I didn't even know who I was anymore.

I shapeshifted myself to be what I thought others wanted, out of fear I'd be left alone.

But after that day, pieces of the REAL me keep rising back to life as I walk with Him... all because He came.

Friend, the deeper you abide with the Lord, the more of YOURSELF you'll become.

Because when He rose from the grave that day, YOU rose with Him.

You're a NEW creation now... which means the real you is ALIVE. Your true identity in Christ... the you" God created before the beginning of time.

When He looks at you, He sees JESUS and who you're made to be. You're not defined by the mistakes you've made or continue to make, cause they're not part of your NEW nature.

They're HABITS... not who you ARE.

And habits can break.

You are GOOD because you're made in the image of a GOOD God. And Jesus brings us back to the garden.

Back to our original design in Him... and back to who we were made to be all along ♥️

If you were shamed for setting boundaries, using your voice, or having opinions that differed from your caregivers growing up, read on ♥️

It makes so much sense to feel TERRIFIED to have your own opinion, especially when others disagree with it.

Healing for me looks like reminding my heart it's okay to disagree with people.

I used to IMMEDIATELY change my opinion so it matched the people around me...

But the truth is, that wasn't because I was a "nice, agreeable person".

I was actually living in fear, feeling unsafe, and terrified of being abandoned.

That's codependency, not "nice agreeability".

God wants to remind you today, it's okay to feel things people disagree with.

It's okay to have a different opinion.

You're still loved, still wanted, and you still matter ♥️

Jesus had a voice all throughout the Bible, even when people disagreed with Him. He knew how to not abandon Himself and what He truly believed, even in the face of losing others' affection.

He was so rooted in safety, love and connection with the Father and Himself that He could be entirely authentic and true to His heart EVEN when people disagreed with Him.

He knew His source of Unconditional Love would never be removed.

And that's the kind of safety He wants to cultivate in YOUR heart too, friend.

So take a deep breath, and remember your voice matters ✨

It always has, and it always will ♥️

If God feels slow right now... take heart, friend ♥️

He's the God of the slow AND the God of the suddenly.

And when that suddenly comes, nothing and no one can stop it from happening (not even your own mistakes).

He's got this, and He's got you ✨

"And therefore the Lord [earnestly] waits [expecting, looking, and longing] to be gracious to you... Blessed (happy, fortunate, to be envied) are all those who [earnestly] wait for Him, who expect and look and long for Him [for His victory, His favour, His love, His peace, His joy, and His matchless, unbroken companionship]!"
Isaiah 30:18

If you feel like loving yourself is selfish 👇

Friend, I see you. It makes so much sense to worry about this.

Lots of Christians think « loving yourself » means they won’t think about others enough.. and thats scary because they don’t want to be seen as « selfish » or « bad ».

I’ve been there. But the crazy thing is, the more I abandoned myself and hated who God created me to be, the more I thought about myself 😲

👉 What people were thinking about me, if I said or did the right thing, if I was good enough, etc.

It actually had the OPPOSITE effect 💔

And it didn’t make me act any « better ». We can’t hate ourselves into being good.

You can’t sow into darkness and reap light 💔🌱

When we choose to partner with judgment over ourselves, we are literally choosing not to receive the unconditional love God is pouring out over us.

Often this self hatred started as a way to shield ourselves from getting rejected, reprimanded, or abandoned in childhood ♥️

But as an adult, the more we hate ourselves, the more we teach people to treat us the same way.

And the more we replicate that behaviour in our interactions with others.

If we believe ALL of God’s creation is precious and worth treating with respect and kindness, that HAS to include ourselves ♥️

Who am I to tell God I don’t deserve his unconditional love because I « matter less » or « I’ve messed up too much? »

The number one person God gave you FULL authority over is YOU. And how you treat you MATTERS ♥️

When we finally reconnect to ourselves, we become who we were always created to be…

And our love for others truly becomes sacrificial, because we’re not serving them to feel worthy anymore, and burning out because it never fills the void…

We’re getting those needs met in a HEALTHY way and not pouring from an empty cup ♥️

So I’ll leave you with this verse that I love so much:

« You must love your neighbour in the SAME WAY you love yourself. »
‭‭Mark‬ ‭12‬:‭‬31‬ ‭✨
