🏒 COMPETITIVE COACHING APPLICATIONS OPENING SOON

Lewisville Minor Hockey Association will begin accepting applications for Competitive Team Head Coaches during the month of June.

Coaching is one of the most important volunteer roles in our association. Our coaches help create positive experiences for players while supporting skill development, teamwork, sportsmanship, and a love of the game.

If you are interested in serving as a Head Coach for one of our competitive teams for the 2026-2027 season, watch for the official application announcement coming soon.

Application details, timelines, and requirements will be shared later this month.

Each year, the Volunteer of the Year award recognizes an individual whose dedication and commitment make a lasting impact on our association.

This year’s recipient stepped up in a big way, taking on not only the role of Ice Coordinator, but also serving as our Spordle liaison and TeamSnap support. Through countless hours of coordination, troubleshooting, and behind-the-scenes support, this volunteer helped keep our association running smoothly for teams, coaches, and families alike.

If your child had ice time this season, you likely owe him a thank you for organizing and making sense of the wild scheduling matrix behind the scenes.

The Charles H. Leger Memorial Scholarship awards up to two graduating high school hockey players who plan to pursue post-secondary education within the next two calendar years. Each recipient receives a $500 bursary.

These bursaries are awarded based on:
• Academic merit (40%) – minimum average of 75% required
• Volunteering and contribution to LMHA (40%)
• Community volunteering (20%)

Lewisville Minor Hockey held its Annual AGM this evening. A sincere thank you to Denis Sheehan for chairing the meeting.

It was a great evening of discussion, information sharing, and thoughtful questions. Reflecting on the past season, there is much to be proud of across LMHA and many positives to build on moving forward.

Tonight was Angela Doiron Sadler, our 1st VP, last AGM and will not be returning. Angela has truly been the glue of our board. With over 6 years of dedicated service, Angela brought a wealth of knowledge, countless volunteer hours, and a calm, steady presence that will be greatly missed. Thank you, Angela, for everything you have given to LMHA and our hockey community.

We were also pleased to welcome a new member to the board, Ryan Hollingum.

We are deeply saddened by the passing of Jonathan Blais.

Jonathan was more than a coach. He was a mentor, a supporter, and a familiar face at the rink whose passion for hockey and commitment to young players touched many lives.

The time, care, and enthusiasm he brought to the game created memories that will stay with his teams and fellow hockey families for years to come.

Our thoughts are with his wife Sophie, his children, extended family, friends, teammates, the Dieppe Memramcook Minor Hockey Association, and everyone grieving this heartbreaking loss.

Jonathan’s impact on the hockey community will not be forgotten. 💙

Jonathan était bien plus qu’un entraîneur. Il était un mentor, un soutien, et un visage familier à l’aréna. Sa passion pour le hockey et son engagement envers les jeunes joueurs ont marqué de nombreuses vies.

Le temps, l’attention et l’enthousiasme qu’il consacrait au sport ont permis de créer des souvenirs qui resteront gravés dans le cœur de ses équipes et des familles de hockey pour les années à venir.

LMHA is looking for an Auditor to join our team! 🏒

This is a key role that helps ensure our teams stay on track financially and follow LMHA budget policies throughout the season. We are looking to fill this role before the season wraps up, so the new Auditor can shadow and learn the process from our current Auditor. 💙

What you’ll do:
- Review team budgets and ensure funds are used appropriately
- Support team managers in understanding budget policies
- Ensure budgets are submitted twice per season
- Analyze team budgets and provide recommendations to the executive
- Offer guidance to teams throughout the season
- Support a smooth transition at the end of your term
