As a coach, teach your players to compliment each other and lift each other up and hold each other accountable in the most respectful and honouring ways. When they’ve learned to do that then they will know the importance of doing that to players on the opposing team too! Remember, you’re all in it for each other. That’s the “W” that matters.

Former Major League Baseball Player, Peter Orr, joined us for a day of stories, reflection, pointers and autographs at Batter Up Baseball in Milton, Ontario.

Pete is a true pro…so generous with his time and so patient as players asked him all the important questions that only kids can dream about asking:

“What was it like playing in the big leagues?”

“Who’s the best player you ever played against?”

“What was it like hitting your first homerun in the Major Leagues?”

“What was your journey like getting drafted and going through the minor leagues?”

“What do you like on your pizza?”

“Do you think giraffes have the longest tongues?” Huh, what? Oh yeah…and he answered all of them like a pro. 😂 😆 🤣

This is Coach Mike and Coach JD at the Rogers Centre watching the Blue Jays in the playoffs a few years ago. Going to a live baseball game is quite the experience…the sights, the sounds, the smells 😋 So this September, Batter Up Baseball is going with a group of players/parents to the Colorado Rockies game. We’ll post some photos. For many, it will be their first professional baseball game! We can’t wait.

One of the things we love about the baseball camp is that ‘some’ parents think their player is too good to send to a program like ours where the kids are “just there to have fun”. Todd Arkell, who hosts a podcast called ‘The Mental Approach’ says, “At the end of the day the game is just a tool to grow as a person.” No truer words about youth sports have ever been said.

Either way, we grow and we grow and we grow. Your choice to be a part of it is your choice. Enjoy the memories, kids! Hopefully your parents will stay out of the way 🙂

This Thursday at Batter Up Baseball in Milton, Former MLB Player and current Scout for the Milwaukee Brewers, Pete Orr will join the Batter Up Players for a time of chalk talk, baseball stories, autographs and photos. Pete Orr was Coach Mike’s 3rd hire at Batter Up and they’ve been teammates and friends for many years.

Pete was drafted by the Texas Rangers and played in the Big Leagues with the Atlanta Braves, Washington Nationals and Philadelphia Phillies.

What a treat to be able to have him at camp! We’ll post some videos and photos at the end of the week!

Fall Ball starts in Mississauga at Birchwood Park on Tuesday, Sept 8 and in Milton at Rotary Park on Thursday, Sept 10. Programs run from 4:30-6pm.

These programs are meant for the players to learn, have fun, and meet new friends. It’s a great opportunity to extend the baseball season up til November…just like the MLB does with the playoffs.

In our opinion, there’s no better time to play; the weather is beautiful and it keeps the kids outside for another couple months.

Check your schedules and if it’s not too packed, sign up with us. Our guarantee is that we’ll be there, ready to play ball with your kids, building their confidence and having fun, just like childhood should be. ⚾️ 🏟️ 🏆

Congratulations to Lily and James on winning our two awards this week in Mississauga! Lily attended our Softball Camp and won MVP in all of camp. That’s quite an accomplishment when you’re selected over 200+ players.
