Bujinkan Hakubai-kan Dojo

Bujinkan Hakubai-kan Dojo : The Mississauga Bujinkan is a small school devoted to teaching the arts of Bujinkan Budo Taijutsu. The practice involves both empty handed and weapons work.

Budo Taijutsu was founded by Headmaster Masaaki Hatsumi in 1970 with the arts he inherited from his teacher, Tosh*tsugu Takamatsu Sensei. These arts, the 9 Ryu-ha are:

- Togakure Ryu Ninpo Taijutsu
- Kukishinden Ryu Happo Bikenjutsu
- Koto Ryu Koppojutsu
- Gikan Ryu Koppojutsu
- Gyokko Ryu Kosshijutsu
- Shinden Fudo Ryu Dakentaijutsu
- Takagi Yoshin Ryu Jutaijutsu
- Gyokushin Ryu Ninpo
- Kumogaku

Among these 9 Ryu-ha, or schools, are various Samurai and Shinobi arts. Strikes with the various limbs, throws, joint locks and grappling are all taught. The weapons of Budo Taijutsu range from well known weapons, such as Swords, Staves and various Polearms, to much more exotic weapons such as Chains, Ropes and Sickles. Even work with fi****ms has been included to adapt to modern times. At the Mississauga Bujinkan, Old and New school methods of conditioning and exercise are also taught as a way to strengthen the body [and mind] and accelerate students' grasp on the basics of the art, as well as promoting fitness and well-being. We welcome all adults, regardless of martial arts background and experience. Minors 15 and up with the right mindset and maturity will also be permitted to join with a guardian's permission. Our practice is safe and friendly, and students will be taught and learn at their own pace. Our school operates out of Axé Capoeira Mississauga, which houses a wide variety of marital arts to choose from. We hold regular practice twice a week, with a weapons class every other Thursday.

2024 was a busy year but I am forever grateful for the support from everyone. I am blessed to be part of so many great communities. Thanks for the memories 2024, let's hit 2025 going strong.

Now back to our regular practice schedule, Tuesdays and Thursdays at 8:30PM - 10:00PM.

Last Thursday's practice was the first of the year, a good time to review our Kihon. While it's supposed to be eaten on New Year's Eve, we rang in the year finishing off practice with some Toshikoshi Soba.

Here's to 2023 and another year of good training!
