• CONSISTENCY •

This year, on my 41st birthday, I’ll have lived more of my life with exercise as a central focus than I have without. That’s 🥜!

21 years of training has given me insight and experience that no degree or course could. I know my clients benefit from the fact their Coach has been through what they’re going through in the gym.

I haven’t simply learned from a text book, or the employee of a given “accredited” training course…I’ve “lived” in the gym for the past two decades, completing the very same Training Programs I prepare for my clients.

Here is some advice for ANYONE attempting to create a healthy relationship with exercise, and how to get the most out of the time-investment you’ll be making:

➕Keep It Simple: Don’t try to reinvent the wheel. Pick or create a training program, complete it, then do it again. Does this workout make sense? Should I pair this exercise with that one?

Don’t stress. In the beginning, keep it simple, and focus on getting STRONG.

➕Judgement Is Abounding: No matter what you do or how you do it, someone will negatively comment and/or judge you. Remember: few people comment when service or products are good or work as they should. But everyone is quick to let you know something doesn’t work or what you’re doing is wrong.

Let ‘em. When you’re doing good for yourself, those people tend to disappear. The good ones stick around, and provide you with true motivation.

➕Consistency Is the ONLY Answer: Consistency in training, recovery, diet, etc. Achieving your goals will require two things: Discomfort and Consistency. This is an inevitably you will get used to if TRUE change is what you’re working for.

Accept it and commit. Or, don’t. But, don’t complain or make excuses. Sorry to be so harsh. But, goal achievement and failure are exclusive to one another. One will take effort. The other takes none.

Another week of Ether’s health and fitness tips! We like to share these tips at the end of the week so you have the weekend to ask us questions, perform your own research, and prepare to incorporate them at the start of the following week.

1. Paleo, Keto, calorie-counting, etc. Well-designed nutrition plans will limit what you eat, which leads to caloric reductions, ensuring success (at first). Moreover, if one can adhere to a "tailored", or "personalized" nutrition plan, the chance for sustainable success is greater!

2. One of the most abundant minerals in the body, playing an important role in at least 300 essential biochemical reactions, including protein synthesis.

With low magnesium levels, one can expect constipation, inability to have good-quality sleep, difficulty losing bodyfat, etc. So, find a quality magnesium supplement!

3. Think of it this way, the arbitrary 10,000 steps everyone seems to be "targeting" on a daily basis won’t result in the inevitable pain and discomfort of working muscles and joints if you're able to improve the way you walk.

And, in the gym, you'll be able to move more weight on two feet, if you're strong on one foot!
