Earlier this month, we sent four teams — Novice, Ladies, Mens, and Mixed — to represent our club at the 2nd annual Sleeman Lower Mainland Curling Club Championships (aka Sleeman Cup) at the Langley Curling Centre.

The Sleeman Cup brings together clubs from across the Lower Mainland and Fraser Valley for a fun and social weekend of curling, giving teams the chance to represent their home club, connect with other curlers, and enjoy some quality games on the ice.

👏 A special shout out to Bonika from our Novice team, who took home a prize after being nominated for Best Shot!

💪 Huge congratulations as well to our Ladies team, who finished the event with the most points in their colour grouping.

A BIG thank you to the organizers and hosts for putting together such a fantastic event and creating such a welcoming atmosphere!

We’re incredibly proud of all our teams for representing Mission so well. This is what club curling is all about! ❤️🥌

The International Tankard, hosted this year by the Vancouver Curling Club, once again brought together an incredible weekend of curling and volunteer appreciation! 🥌

Thank you to the host club for their warm hospitality and to everyone involved in making the event run so smoothly. This long-standing tradition unites curlers from both Canada and the U.S. for some friendly competition and plenty of camaraderie.

We were proud to have Mission Granite Curling Club Board members Joel and Gemma represent our club this year to continue the tradition of celebrating the volunteers who are the backbone of our curling community.

Weekends like this highlight what makes curling so special, and we’re already excited for the next Tankard in Seattle at the Granite Curling Club - Seattle!

This National Volunteer Week, we’re excited to shine a spotlight on one of the many volunteers who help make Mission Granite Curling Club a fun and welcoming place — Jeremy!

Jeremy has been volunteering with MGCC for around 8 years and wears many hats around the club. He’s a board member, manages the club website, runs our Learn to Curl sessions, and organizes both the Monday Night Open Novice League and the Thursday Night Mixed Open League.

When asked what he enjoys most about volunteering, Jeremy said: “I love seeing new curlers first get hooked on the beautiful game of curling, then get hooked on the amazing community that the curling club fosters!”

A huge thank you to Jeremy — and to all of our incredible volunteers. Mission Granite Curling Club is a volunteer-run club, and we wouldn’t be able to do what we do without the time, dedication, and passion of those who give back!

The Mission Granite Curling Club’s AGM is next month!🥌

Come hear how the leagues performed this season, how bar sales went, what’s ahead for the club, and help vote in new leadership.

We’ll also be tackling the big questions… like how the new vinyl wraps are somehow responsible for your team missing every draw to the button after the third end.

Earlier this month, we wrapped our leagues with some great food, lots of laughs, and a chance to celebrate the season together.

Our Thursday Night Mixed League had a blast with a tasty dinner catered by Corona's Mexican Restaurant 🌮 before splitting into teams for a creative (and very entertaining) egg drop challenge. There were some clever builds… and yes, a few broken eggs along the way!

Meanwhile, our Monday Night Novice League enjoyed a delicious dinner, a fun ice‑breaker game to get everyone chatting, and some awesome prizes. Huge congrats to our prize winners who scored Mission‑branded swag, a brand‑new curling broom, and a gripper! 👏

Thanks to everyone who help make our leagues such a fun and welcoming part of our club. We loved celebrating together and are already looking forward to doing it all again next season! 🥌😊

Our Curling for Kids program for ages 5-12 wrapped up last month, and we want to send a big thank you to all the parents and grandparents who came out to support the young curlers on their final day.

We also want to give a huge shout out to our amazing volunteers who make this program possible. It’s been wonderful watching the kids learn new skills, build confidence and share plenty of laughs.

If you’re interested in enrolling your child, our next Curling for Kids program starts in Fall 2026.

🎉 Decades of Fun at the Ladies 80s Bonspiel! 🎉

What a fantastic weekend at the Ladies 80s Bonspiel at the Mission Granite Curling Club! This year we mixed things up by opening the costume theme to any decade from the 1920s to the 1980s, and the creativity did not disappoint.
From flappers and retro swing dresses to air cadet uniforms and full-on 80s neon, the rink was full of colour and incredible outfits.

Events like this remind us that curling is just as much about community and connection as it is about the game.

A big thank you to everyone who helped organize, volunteered their time, and of course to all the curlers who embraced the theme with creativity and brought their energy to the ice.

The beloved Mission 80s Ladies Bonspiel is almost here!

On February 27-March 1st, get ready to party like it's 1920 - 1970; you choose your era!

$300 per team includes Friday night chilli, Saturday night dinner, DJ, karaoke, and prizes for best costume!

🥌✨Holiday Mixer Recap! 🎄🤝

What a fantastic day at our club's Holiday Curling Mixer last week! We kicked off the festivities with 4 four-end games, mixing up teams each round so everyone had the chance to curl with new friends.

Thank you to The Mandarin Palace for the delicious Chinese food dinner! A total of 7 prizes were won by curlers at the mixer including a waffle maker, a movie night for two, and a gift card to the Mandarin Palace!

And a BIG Shout out to our helpers!! We couldn't run this event without our AMAZING volunteers stepping up: Jeremy and Sandeep for organizing, Parker for helping with the food, Mike and Jen for making the ice, Steve for stocking the bar, Colleen for printing our lovely large draw sheets, and Rocky for doing the dishes! Comment a thank you if we've missed anyone else!
