Mission Tennis Club is open for a summer of fun and games starting Tuesday, May 12 at 6 pm

The club meets on
Tuesdays and Thursdays at 6 pm (5 pm for ladder games)
Sundays from 9:30 am to 12 noon
Wednesday mornings (TBA)

Membership fees are:
*Single $50
**Couple $75
***Family $100 (adults and over 16 years old)

Lots of fun activities for members including

- fun tournament
- end of season tournament
- wind up party

Social and challenging tennis for all

E-transfer or cash for membership fees available

Mission tennis club celebrated its year end event at the Hub brewery on Oct. 2nd. It was great to see all of you who could make it out! Trophies were presented to the winners of men's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles. A HUGE thank you goes out to our fearless leaders Mark and Val for all their hard work and dedication to our club. Without you our regular club nights, tournaments and fun events simply wouldn't go as smoothly! See below for some photo highlights from our year end wrap up.

Our tennis season is almost at a close. It's been another fun year connecting with well known friends as well as new faces!! Here's a run down of our tournament winners as well as medal winners from the B.C. Senior games held in Nanaimo 2 weeks ago. Photos for the following winners were unavailable in time for this post:

BC Senior games women's doubles 65 - 69 silver medalists: Heather and Rose
BC Senior games mixed doubles 70 - 74 bronze medalists: Heather and Gary

We enjoyed beautiful (if a bit hot!) weather for our annual fun tournament on July 13th😎. Thanks to everyone for the shareable snacks and friendly games. A special thanks to Mark and Val for organizing and executing a great day for the club😊🎾. We even had a special appearance by Elvis!!!

Hello fellow tennis players!!
Our plan is to have the fun tournament this year on Sunday, July 13. The tournament will begin at 9:30am and go until 1pm. The cost is $5 and all proceeds will go to St. Joseph's Food Bank so please bring $5 cash per person.

Please also bring snacks and lunch for yourselves and a chair or blanket to sit on. If you have a trophy from previous years, please arrange to get it back to Mark and Val before the tournament.

We need to hear back from you by July 6 as it takes some planning to get everything in order. So please RSVP to Mark and Val at [email protected] by July 6, if you have not confirmed with them.
In order to play in the tournament you need be a member of the Mission Tennis Club so please also pay your registration fee to [email protected] if you have not done so ($50 for individuals, $75 for couples, and $100 for families). Looking forward to a fun day together🎾😀

CALLING ALL TENNIS PLAYERS!!!!🎾😀
Opening day is Tuesday, May 6th (weather permitting) and here’s what you need to know:

· Tuesdays and Thursdays 5:00 to dusk (5:00 to 6:00 may be used for ladder matches). We will continue with the format of “Challenge Court”.

· Wednesdays 9:30 to noon is designated for mixed doubles play only (subject to change dependent on participation).

· Sundays from 9:30 to noon. Open to everyone and will resemble past years’ drop-in.

· Anyone wishing to join the Club and/or ladders will be required to pay membership dues. (No additional fees to join ladders.) Besides bragging rights, some additional benefits of being a MTC member are eligibility to participate in various tournaments, such as the annual year-end and Fun tournaments; contribution to prizes for ladder winners, etc.

· Fees are: $50 for single players, $75 for couples, and $100 for a family (adults and ages 16 and over). These fees, which are required prior to playing as a Club member, may be paid by *e-Transfer ([email protected]), cheque, or cash.

Mission Tennis Club had their annual wrap up dinner at the HubCo Brewery on Oct. 3rd and it was great to see all those who turned out. Trophies were distributed, door prizes awarded to the lucky recipients and congratulations extended to all those who participated in the year end championships as well as the 55+ games held in Salmon Arm. Here are the winners for all events:

Congratulations to the men's and women's doubles champions, Sampreet and Ian, Diane and Brenda who competed in the Mission Tennis Club Doubles competition. The runners up, Josh and Luke, Tanis and Anne-marie, gave the winners a run for their money and we congratulate them on their excellent play as well! Once again, a big thank you to Mark and Val for organizing and executing a great day that everyone enjoyed🎾!
