Dedicated to providing unique training and performance opportunities to youth tap dancers, our focus is on technique, history, improvisation, working with live music, and providing a safe space for dancers to explore their own artistry and voice. Before there was a company, there was this.

Fresh off the decision to create the company, I brought together four students from different studios (future founding members!) and choreographed a piece for the 2016 TRI show. What started as a simple performance became the very first chapter of our story and our company debut.

The Rhythm Ensemble will be running an additional audition to fill our remaining company spots for our summer term. Auditions will be open for our Junior Ensemble and Apprentice Division only. These auditions will cover our summer term that runs from June 2026-August 2026. Auditions will take place during the first class of the term on Sunday, June 7th so accepted dancers won’t miss out on any company classes.

Dancers must register to audition. To register please visit https://therhythmensemble.regfox.com/s10-t3-audition. Current company members do not need to re-audition for the summer term.

Back by popular demand, the Rhythm Ensemble will be offering a series of pop-up summer workshops. Join us for a focused evening of tap dance, designed to refine your technique and deepen your understanding of rhythm, sound, and movement. Whether you’re looking to sharpen fundamentals or explore more nuanced details, this workshop offers a thoughtful approach to tap dance in a supportive, fun setting.

Spaces are intentionally limited to keep the experience personal and focused. Unlike larger workshops, this intimate setting allows for individual attention and meaningful growth. You’ll leave with sharpened skills, fresh inspiration, and a deeper connection to your tap dance practice.

We’re excited to welcome Houys Garabedian into the studio ✨

Houys is already part of our Rhythm Ensemble family as director of our Foundations Program, and today she’ll be working closely with our Pre-Pro division, Apprentice division, and Junior Ensemble.

We’ve made the decision to cancel all classes today due to the inclement weather. While conditions are not severe at the moment, the forecast shows accumulation continuing throughout the day, and it’s always a difficult call to make this early. With so many dancers and faculty traveling long distances, we want to prioritize everyone’s safety.

Please stay safe, stay warm, and enjoy the unexpected day off!
