Self care looks different for each of us but it is so important ...

When I asked a few friends what they do to reduce stress, there was a whole range of answers.

Read a book, take a nap, relax with a tea, sing, learn something new, call a friend, exercise, dance 💃, write in a journal, clear clutter, call a friend ... there are so many things you can do. I’m sure you can add a whole lot more to this list.

I’ve always found moving my body to be at the top of my list...

Sweat is the secret sauce 💦

Getting your blood moving, really sweating, challenging yourself, setting personal goals and reaching them, making yourself proud of you. Knowing what you are doing is good for you mentally and physically. There are so many benefits to moving your body.

I still find it hard to get my motivation up every day to do it but I know how important it is and I’ve found things that help me find that motivation.

Find what’s works for you and keep going. For me, a sense of community and working towards goals with others has been a huge help especially over the last 8 months. I didn’t realize how much I relied on this virtual community until this Pandemic hit (is hit the right word?? 🤷‍♀️).

As we go back into lockdown, find what works for you and try to stay consistent. Set small achievable goals. It’s never too late to start.

If you need ideas, some sample workouts to try or just a community to be part of to learn about nutrition and get some healthy recipes, reach out.

Find something ... find something that works for you 💕 it is so important though the craziness of this pandemic, not only for our physical health but also for our mental health. The daily connection with the others in my group has been life changing for many of us.

If you want more information on the community I have and the programs we do, comment below or message me privately.

When gifts like this are given to me, it reminds me that what I started as one goal for myself 4 1/2 years ago, has turned into so much more.

I’m in this journey everyday with our Stronger Everyday community and when people thank me for what I do, I often reply that it’s them doing the work. But then I remind myself that none of this would exist if I didn’t make the decision to start a business at the same time that I started my health journey.

I love connecting people. I love sharing health and wellness tips. This platform has opened up so many opportunities for me all while keeping me accountable to my own health and fitness goals.

I am so thankful for this community. It was so good to see you in person today Elisabet 💕

And I have to say, while many of us in this group are local, this business is global and there are people I have connected with all across Canada 🇨🇦 the US 🇺🇸 , the UK 🇬🇧 and France 🇫🇷. I’m excited for 2021. I don’t think I ever realized how much I would love owning a business like this!

It’s kind of empowering when you feel yourself getting stronger and you know the hard work you’ve been putting in is paying off!

I can’t believe how fast the last two weeks have flown by and that we’re already in the final week of the test group for this new program!

I’m going to be starting Round 2 of this 3 week program on August 10th (I’ve started putting orders in today so the kits arrive in time) and that means I get to work with a whole new group of women who are ready to start too! If you are looking for an online fitness and nutrition program to take your through the rest of the summer, comment below or message me!

Here are the details for the program!
1. Includes two 3 week programs designed to do back-to-back

2. workouts are 25-40 minutes each

3. Strength training and cardio with the intensity of the moves set to the music

4. Includes 2 full nutrition programs that are easy to follow and allow for summer treats 🍷

5. Online access for a full year to a library of over 70 other fitness programs.

So who’s in for getting STRONGER with me this summer 🕶

I should add, men do register for these programs too but for some reason they don’t like the accountability group full of women… I have no clue why 🤷‍♀️ it’s a pretty incredible group!!

“Find beauty in the little things like walking barefoot in the grass”

Feeling inspired this morning as I think back to the retreat I was at when I got this top and the wonderful friends I met there ❤️ I went on a whim and made some amazing memories with a group of incredible woman.

P.S. A note to my amazing landscaper…no grass was damaged in the making of this post 🌱

I love summer salads

This one is next on my list🍍

Here’s the recipe for anyone that loves beets as much as I do!

Beetroot, Pineapple and Mint Salad
Serves 6

Ingredients
• 4 cups chopped beets, roasted
• 3 cups chopped pineapple
• 1/4 cup mint, thinly sliced
• 1-2 Tbsp. olive oil, to drizzle

Directions:

1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. On a lined baking sheet, evenly spread chopped beets and roast for about 40 minutes or until tender. Set aside to cool.

Who wants to be part of a test group this summer and try an amazing new workout program with me?

One of my favourite parts about this side business doing online fitness is that we get to be part of new program launches and give feedback on the programs with our results ... And we can invite others to join the test group with us!

I’ve been so excited for this launch .... There’s a sample of workout coming out Monday that everyone can try!

The official release of the program isn’t until later this year but you can get in on the program early and start in July with me!

2. workouts are 25-40 minutes each

4. Includes 2 full nutrition programs that are easy to follow and allow for summer treats 🍷

So who’s in for getting STRONGER with me this summer 🕶

The programs are all online and even though you are working out at home, you are never alone when you are part of my online community!

Put your favourite GIF or emoji in the comments if you want more information or if you are shy … send me a message!

P.S. If this video kind of scares you because it looks a bit intense....there are modifiers and it starts at a beginner level and then progresses but If it doesn’t look right for you…I have a library of other sample workouts I can send you links to for all levels of fitness.

Do you have a quote that lingers with you sometimes??

“You are confined only by the walls you build yourself”
Andrew Murphy

That quote was running through my head for my whole ride this morning. I posted it in the private fitness group I run to motivate everyone to push a little harder today ... Little did I know how much it would help me push myself.

Sometime we have beliefs about ourselves that put a limit on what we do. If you really accept that limiting belief, it can become a truth for you. It becomes that wall that we build ourselves.

I can’t go that far ...
I’m not strong enough ...
I’m not good at that ...
I’m not a morning person ...
I’m too old ...
I can’t change ...
Why try ... I always fail ...

When you push beyond those beliefs ... those limits you put on yourself, you grow stronger!

Have you ever taken a minute to think about what beliefs you have about yourself that could be holding you back? What walls have you built??

Think about it ... and then see how good it feels to break through that wall 💪

There are a lot of nominations and challenges going around to raise awareness for many causes. I’ve joined a few 😉 When I received this challenge I couldn’t say no. I’ve heard from many that this time of social isolation has been challenging mentally so it’s a good time to raise awareness about mental health and let anyone who needs to hear it know that as alone as you may feel, you are never alone ❤️

Day 1 of 25 💪🏽 I've been nominated by Dr. Jenna Davis DC to complete “25 push-ups for 25 days” challenge to help raise awareness for PTSD (Post Traumatic Stress Disorder), anxiety and depression that drive people to commit su***de.

Today I Nominate Lisa Roach to smash out 25 of your best! 💪🏽 🔥 Hot Tip from a friend 🔥 Make sure video is recording properly (and you have space on your phone) when you start so you don’t have to do them twice!

The rules are simple:
*Once you are nominated your 25 days starts the following day
*Everyday you record yourself doing 25 push-ups even if you have to drop to your knees to get 25 in *Every day nominate a different person.
*Join in even if you aren’t nominated yet and start your own challenge! I nominate you!*

Help us reach as many people as possible so collectively we may build awareness for anyone who is suffering from a mental illness. You are not alone and we are here for you!

Don't be afraid to speak out!!!

If you want to keep track of me… I will most likely be doing these my stories to raise awareness and nominate friends.

I love quiet mornings with my cup of tea ☕️

As I had my tea this morning, I was checking into the fitness accountability group I run and I shared some thoughts on the little choices we make everyday and how they may impact our goals.

Have you ever taken the time to think about your habits ... think about all of the little choices you make everyday and whether they are leading you closer to your goals or further away from them? Whatever those goals might be ... health goals, career goals, relationship goals, life goals in general.

Every decision you make is training your brain.

With each decision, we are either strengthening our “giving-in” muscle or strengthening our “resistance” muscle.

Your brain is always in training ...
• Decide to workout
• Decide to push that negative thought aside
• Decide not to eat an extra serving at dinner when you know you’re full
• Decide not to add the sugar to your tea ☕️

These decisions all feel good and usually lead to you having a moment of feeling proud of yourself even if it’s only for a second ... your brain remembers those feelings.

The more we make these decisions, the easier it becomes.

• Decide to put off your workout, allow the negative thoughts to brew or mindlessly binge eat – it doesn’t feel so good and usually comes with feelings of shame or guilt.

This is your opportunity to understand your triggers. What is leading you to make these decisions? Stress, fatigue, anxiety, insecurity, fear…

Once we start to recognize these triggers and take control of our decisions – yes you are in control of every decision you make and only you – we are empowered and with each good decision our resistance muscle gets stronger. And then it just gets easier.

If there is a goal you are on a journey towards, take some time to think about your habits and what decisions you might be making that could be influencing your path to get there ❤️
